Dog-friendly Thai restaurant in Seongsu, Seoul: Soi Nana pad thai kung

In short

Soi Nana is a Thai restaurant tucked into an alley near Seongsu Station in Seongdong, Seoul. On a weekend visit with her husband, the writer ordered pad thai kung (shrimp pad thai), poo pad pong curry (soft-shell crab curry) and coconut sorbet; there was a wait, but tables turned over fast. With a dog-friendly outdoor table and a bar table for solo diners, Soi Nana works just as well for a date as for eating alone.

I was trying to figure out where to go near Seongsu Station on the weekend when my husband said he'd found a great Thai place, so we headed straight over. I'd been craving something exotic for a while, and since it was dog-friendly too, my expectations were sky-high.

Where is Soi Nana Seongsu, and what are the parking and hours?

Soi Nana's Seongsu branch was really easy to walk to from Seongsu Station — following the alley, it came into view right away.

The exterior has such a strong exotic feel that it made me want to walk faster to get there.

They even have a dog-friendly outdoor table and a bar table that's great for solo dining or sitting side by side — perfectly covering all kinds of needs.

How long is the wait at Soi Nana, and how does tablet ordering work?

This place is so popular there can be a wait. Luckily the turnover is fast, so we got seated quickly.

Soi Nana menu listing various Thai dishes

The menu had such a wide variety of Thai dishes. Prices were reasonable and the offerings were substantial, so I spent a long time agonizing over what to choose.

Pad thai kung: whole shrimp and smoky wok flavor

First up was the pad thai kung, packed with that smoky wok flavor.

Plump shrimp were piled on generously, and I couldn't take my eyes off the presentation.

The bold smoky flavor spread through my whole mouth, and the noodles were so chewy — I was completely satisfied.

Poo pad pong curry: fried soft-shell crab mixed into rice

Next up was the poo pad pong curry.

Poo pad pong curry topped with soft-shell crab tempura

Topped with crispy-outside, tender-inside soft-shell crab tempura, the texture — crunchy yet soft — was insane.

Mixing rice into the curry, rich with coconut milk flavor, was absolutely delicious.

Coconut sorbet to finish the meal

To finish, I tried the coconut sorbet.

It cleanly cut through the spiciness in my mouth, and the sweet, cool flavor was outstanding. 🥥🌴
