Chunui-dong Korean restaurant, 10-minute noon wait: Gim Myeongju

A Bucheon favorite: Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bucheon Main Branch

I visited Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bucheon Main Branch, a set-meal Korean restaurant (한정식) where you can eat surrounded by the natural scenery of Wonmisan mountain! It's a spot for a proper Korean table setting with stone-pot rice, cheonggukjang (fermented soybean paste) stew, and 12 neatly arranged banchan (side dishes).

Where is Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang in Chunui-dong, and is there parking?

📍240 Chunui-dong, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do. This Bucheon favorite sits on the Wonmisan food street between Bucheon Sports Complex Station and Kkachiul Station. It's about a 15-minute walk from Kkachiul Station, so it's reachable by public transit, but the walk up is a bit of a hill, so I'd recommend driving if you can~

Opening hours and holiday closures

⏰ Open Mon–Sun 10:30–21:00 (last order 20:00). They post holiday closures on Naver in advance for Lunar New Year and Chuseok, and this year they're closed both the day before Chuseok and on Chuseok itself, so keep that in mind~!

How long is the wait, and what is the dining room like?

With a wide range of Korean dishes on offer, Tteuranchae Bapsang is a great Bucheon spot for a family gathering with your parents🥬

There's someone directing parking out front and the lot has plenty of space, so it's easy to visit by car too.

The restaurant is on the 2nd floor — climb the stairs and there's a waiting area set up just inside. It's a popular Bucheon spot, so waiting is basically a given during lunch peak hours, weekday or weekend.

I visited a bit past noon on a weekday during peak time, and there were about 4 parties ahead of me~ The wait was about 10 minutes, so I got seated sooner than I expected.

They don't take reservations between 12–15:00 on weekends and holidays, but groups can still book~ If you want to avoid the wait for weekend lunch especially, I'd recommend arriving a little early.

At Tteuranchae Bapsang, they mill their own hwangmi (yellow) rice fresh every day~ You get a delicious stone-pot rice with a nutty flavor and a chewy texture that really comes through.

You can also buy the banchan and cheonggukjang separately~ They also had a dried yellow corvina (borigulbi) gift set for sale, which looked great for a holiday gift.

A comfortable set-meal Korean restaurant that works well for gatherings and also as a family dining spot.

There's a self-bar in the middle of the dining room, so you can always comfortably top up any banchan you run low on!

Our order that day was the Tteuranchae Bapsang for two at ₩26,000 plus grilled mackerel at ₩16,000.

Japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), braised burdock root, seasoned spinach, lettuce wraps, fried eggplant, kimchi

Golden-brown, crispy-on-the-outside-tender-inside mackerel and savory cheonggukjang stew

Dried radish greens, pickled peppers, braised potatoes, pickled garlic scapes, perilla leaves, seasoned balloon flower root. These are homemade banchan made with real care, and I felt comfortably full without feeling heavy afterward💪

With 12 banchan made using all kinds of methods — seasoned, braised, pickled, fried — there was never a moment I got tired of eating. My mom, who came with me, was happy too, saying the vegetable dishes had a nice soft texture and just the right seasoning.

Rice really matters in Korean food, right~ It was freshly made stone-pot rice, nutty and chewy, which made the whole meal even better ☺️ Come here when you want a hearty, healthy Korean table setting. I'd recommend Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch as a great Korean restaurant to take your parents to near Kkachiul and Jak-dong in Bucheon!
