Seongsu rooftop café for brûlée soufflé: 5to7 Seongsu

In short

5to7 Seongsu Main Branch is a dessert café in Seongdong, Seoul, with indoor and outdoor seating from the first floor to its third-floor rooftop. I had the Pearl Cream Brûlée Soufflé, 5to7 Einspänner, and Dutch Americano while enjoying some solo downtime in its exotic atmosphere. Verdict: a lovely spot for soufflé and rooftop vibes together.

Not long ago, I came across a photo of a wonderfully delicious-looking, fluffy soufflé dessert on social media.

Once it lingered in my mind like an afterimage, I just couldn’t stop thinking about it, haha. So I couldn’t resist and immediately set off to find a great soufflé spot near home!

An Exotic Soufflé Café Found in Seongsu

That’s how I found 5to7 Seongsu Main Branch (오투칠 성수본점). Even the walk there was so hip that it caught me completely off guard! And why were there so many foreign visitors too? Haha.

Seating From the First Floor to the Third-Floor Rooftop

5to7 was a much bigger café than I expected! From the moment I arrived, the red-brick exterior and stylish interior made me feel as though I had traveled abroad.

This is a very appealing café where you can use both indoor and outdoor spaces from the first floor all the way up to the third.

There are also atmospheric outdoor seats on the first floor, making it perfect for drinking coffee in the breeze on a lovely day like these!

Head up to the second floor and you’ll find a cozy interior with a different feel, plus outdoor seating exclusive to that floor. And the real highlight was definitely the third-floor rooftop! Once I got up there, the open air and atmosphere were truly a work of art!!

There was a great variety of seating, from bar tables and cozy sofas to outdoor terrace seats. The layout was so comfortable for enjoying relaxed café time alone or getting some work done.

Every corner of the café was so pretty that I found myself constantly pressing the shutter, haha.

Another thing I really liked was that each floor had its own restroom! The interiors had soft lighting too, so they felt very atmospheric, were kept extremely clean, and were comfortable to use.

Pearl Cream Brûlée Soufflé and Coffee

This time, I ordered their signature Pearl Cream Brûlée Soufflé, along with a Dutch Americano and 5to7 Einspänner!

Here’s the menu and pricing for reference! Haha.

The Pearl Cream Brûlée Soufflé was visually stunning, and the moment I put a knife to it, I could immediately feel its soft, pillowy texture!

The tender soufflé melted in my mouth, while the sweet, crisp brûlée cream on top and generous chewy tapioca pearls created an insane combination of textures! The sweetness spread with every fun chew, and it was perfect for a sugar boost!

The 5to7 Einspänner I ordered with it also had a top that you crack open, like crème brûlée!

Crème brûlée-style Einspänner

One sip brought the distinctively bittersweet yet sweet flavor of dalgona (Korean honeycomb candy), and it was so delicious.

Dutch Americano and dessert

After the sweet soufflé and Einspänner, a sip of the clean, deep-flavored Dutch Americano reset my palate beautifully. The combination was the best, haha.

A Healing Seongsu Moment Spent Writing Alone

The Ttukseom/Seongsu-dong area itself is already so exotic, and there were so many international guests at the café that I almost felt as if I were sitting in a pretty resort café overseas rather than in Korea!

I was completely immersed in its relaxed, exotic atmosphere, enjoying plenty of dessert and writing in my diary. It became such a happy, precious little healing time all to myself, haha.
