Seongsu café with fig soufflé pancakes and terrace seats: 5to7

In short

5to7 Seongsu Main Branch is a dessert café in Seongdong, Seoul, serving soufflé pancakes and coffee. I had the fig soufflé and a moka pot Americano on the terrace, and loved the fluffy pancakes with their light, smooth cream. Verdict: a lovely pick when autumn fig desserts are calling.

There are so many cafés around Seoul Forest that choosing one can be hard, but that day I wanted a proper dessert rather than a café where I’d just have coffee >_< So I went to 5to7 Seongsu Main Branch, which is famous for its soufflé pancakes!

Visiting 5to7 Seongsu Main Branch and parking

If you’re coming by car, you can use the nearby Seongdong-gu Community Sports Center public parking lot, which costs ₩700 per 10 minutes. They operate without a break time, so it seemed like a good place to visit at that awkward hour after lunch, too.

It has been featured several times as a great soufflé pancake spot on shows such as Saturday Is Good for Rice, Live Today, and Live This Evening. Maybe that’s why there were so many international visitors when I went!

What to know before ordering soufflé pancakes

That many eggs, wow. Since the soufflé pancakes are made to order, they don’t come out as quickly as regular café desserts, so I think it’s best to visit with a little extra time to spare!

What are the Seoul Forest terrace seats like?

The café was bigger than I expected. At first, I thought it would be a small dessert café tucked into a Seoul Forest alley, but there’s space all the way up to the second floor, so there are quite a few seats. There are outdoor seats too, so it looks like a nice option for anyone looking for a terrace café! When the weather starts getting cool like it is lately, sometimes having a cup of coffee outside is better than sitting indoors, right? I enjoyed my soufflé and coffee at a terrace table, too!

The fig soufflé and cream combination

I loved the look of the fig soufflé the moment it came out. Once autumn arrives, fig desserts begin appearing one by one, and since I personally love figs, I tend to try them whenever I spot one at a café. This one had a really generous amount of figs on top of the soufflé pancakes. It didn’t feel like they just put on a few pieces and called it a day—there were enough to eat along with the soufflé, which I loved!!! The figs’ delicate sweetness went so well with the fluffy soufflé, and with the cream too, it was heavenly…

Since the soufflé was sweet, I ordered a clean, straightforward moka pot Americano. With cream and fruit on the soufflé, I still think crisp coffee like an Americano pairs best. And one thing I loved here: you can order it decaf, too!

And the cream here is incredible. A lot of cream can sometimes feel heavy, but 5to7’s was lighter and smoother than I expected, so it wasn’t overwhelming at all with the figs. The soufflé itself was fairly mild, so having it with the cream and fruit was actually even tastier >_<

As you’d expect from a specialist, the soufflé texture was definitely different from ordinary pancakes—so fluffy and puffed up! It was incredibly soft, and eating it warm felt like walking on a cloud…❤️ One bite with the fig and cream brought together fluffy soufflé + smooth cream + the fig’s delicate sweetness, and it was so good that my mom and I absolutely devoured it. Highly recommended if you love soufflé pancakes.

Photo after finishing the soufflé pancakes

I don’t usually like posting photos after we’ve finished everything because they look messy, but this one is genuine proof that it was delicious… Even though my mom and I thought it was a lot, we ate every last bit haha. They have a wide variety of options, including fresh mango soufflé, strawberry soufflé, pearl crème brûlée soufflé, and matcha soufflé, so I’d love to try another flavor next time. The café is roomier than expected and has outdoor seating too, so I recommend it to anyone looking for a terrace café near Seoul Forest!!!!
