Grilled fish platter for two with kids at Ruwon City, Hangsangcharim

In short

Hangsangcharim Kodari Myeongga Ruwon City Branch is a Korean restaurant in Seohae, Incheon known for braised kodari (dried pollock). Visiting with a child instead meant skipping the spicy kodari for the wood-fired grilled fish platter for two (₩37,000), adding three pots of rice (₩9,000), and getting a spread of hairtail, mackerel, flounder and salted mackerel, with the fragrance-free salted mackerel and self-serve japchae standing out. It's a mild, family-friendly rice restaurant that works for kids and adults alike.

Wood-fired grilled fish platter table setting at Hangsangcharim Kodari Myeongga Ruwon City Branch

We just moved houses ~ so I was looking for good rice restaurants nearby and ended up finding one we could bring our kid to. It just opened so there wasn't much info out there, but our family loves grilled fish so we went for it.

A Ruwon City must-visit rice restaurant!! It's Hangsangcharim Kodari Myeongga Ruwon City Branch ~ it's famous for kodari (dried pollock), but since we had our kid with us, spicy food was going to be tough, so today we decided on grilled fish instead ^^

The grilled fish platter cooked in a wood-fired oven needs no introduction! Let me get into the details 😍

Parking and business info

You can park in the building and there are plenty of spots, so parking was super easy! Parking assistance is available ~

It opened on September 4, 2026! A brand new, piping hot rice restaurant >< !!

My husband really loves kodari ~ but since we had our kid with us today.. pass, pass ㅠ haha. We'll come back with my husband next time to eat kodari! haha The lunch menu really seems like great value for money.

Basic table setting and self-serve banchan bar

They set the table with everything first! And there's a self-serve bar if you need more banchan (side dishes) ~ the banchan were really clean-tasting and delicious. The japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) was so good too 🩷

What's in the wood-fired grilled fish platter?

The grilled fish finally arrived! The lineup is excellent ~ hairtail, mackerel, flounder, and salted mackerel x2. Looking at the grilled fish, it was glistening like crazy.

My love ..... the pot rice appears!! I really love pot rice so much.

Pot rice served alongside the fish

The grilled fish had plenty of meat, was so moist, and so delicious ~ especially the salted mackerel, which was incredible. What fishy smell.... it was seriously amazingly good haha. No need to go to the coast for grilled fish. It's genuinely delicious.. I forgot all about Jeju and Sokcho!!..

More japchae brought from the self-serve bar

A japchae must-visit... I grabbed a bit more from the self-serve bar.. the japchae was so good and the other banchan were tasty too.

Finishing with pot rice nurungji

After finishing the rice, the nurungji (scorched rice) is the real main event too.. so you've gotta eat the nurungji ~ it turned out perfectly cooked!! We ate it together with the fish.

We ate well ~ overall the menu lineup was so good that I found myself wanting to come back with the whole family. It seems like a rice restaurant where everyone from adults to kids can eat satisfyingly! Having the pot rice too gave it a really thoughtful, cared-for feel! It's not overly seasoned and the food is clean, so it'd be great for anyone looking for a hearty Korean restaurant!!!
