Hi, this is Eunming!
After working out for the first time in a while, I was craving dakgangjeong (Korean fried chicken bites) today!! So I went to Mr. Kim's Chicken, a restaurant I found in Jayang Traditional Market.
The owner started with one resolve — cutting out bloated distribution margins to focus purely on 'taste' and 'price' — and that heartfelt note has me excited about this dakgangjeong spot in Jayang Market haha 😆 Let's go check it out~~

Ordering the medium-spicy dakgangjeong, 15 minutes to takeout
I ordered the medium-spicy dakgangjeong (medium size). Once you order, the owner immediately tosses it in sauce right in front of you~~😋
The sweet and spicy dakgangjeong being cooked up so beautifully. The visuals are insane!!!! I want to eat it right now❤️

I got it to go so I could eat while watching TV at home, and it took about 15 minutes haha

- Medium-spicy dakgangjeong (medium): ₩9,000
- Fried chicken gizzards: ₩8,000
- Mustard sauce: ₩500
- Pickled radish: ₩500
- Drink: ₩2,000

Even before eating, the smell was already amazing

How was the fried chicken gizzard?
The first thing I tried, the fried gizzard, was honestly moving... seriously so crispy lol 🤩

The more you chew the gizzard fry, the more you notice that bouncy, chewy texture — it's excellent. I already liked gizzard fry, but Mr. Kim's Chicken made me like it even more;;
It's savory and delicious even plain, but dipping it in mustard sauce adds a sharp kick that makes it even more amazing. Ugh, this would be perfect with beer or soju — I barely held myself back from day drinking 🥺

Medium-spicy dakgangjeong and the hidden rice cake fritters
The chicken pieces in the medium-spicy dakgangjeong are super chunky, and the medium-spicy sauce soaks in really well. I can handle spicy food well, and this medium spice level was just right — the crunch of the batter and the sweet-spicy sauce came together perfectly 👏

There are rice cake fritters hidden throughout the dakgangjeong! Chewy and well coated in sauce — I don't normally like rice cake, but these were so good I ate them all^_^
The portion was so huge it was too much to finish alone, so I put the leftover dakgangjeong and gizzard fry in the fridge and finished them off happily that evening~~😉
Overall review of Mr. Kim's Chicken Jayang Market Branch
The taste brought back memories of my dad bringing home old-style chicken on his way from work when I was a kid 🍗 I think this is a kind chicken shop looking out for the wallets of Jayang-dong neighbors!
