I went to a café during a recent trip to Gangneung. It was honestly so good that I had to write a review, so here's my honest story of unwinding over coffee at Coffee Dripper, a must-visit café in Chodang-dong, Gangneung ⋰˚★ The coffee is delicious, the atmosphere is great, and the location is great too — genuinely a good spot.

Coffee Dripper's location — near Chodang Sundubu Village, 10 minutes from Gangmun Beach

📍 A nicely-vibed café in Chodang-dong, Gangneung! It's close to Heo Gyun & Heo Nanseolheon Memorial Park and near Chodang Sundubu (tofu) Village, so it's perfect to stop by before or after a bowl of sundubu. It's also about a 10-minute walk from Gangmun Beach, making it a great stop before or after a beach trip. A really natural fit for a Gangneung travel route.

Is parking easy?

🅿️ Easy ground-level parking right in front of the café! No matter how good the food or the vibe is, if parking is a hassle you just don't end up going — am I the only one who thinks that way, haha. But here, parking was genuinely no trouble at all, so it was great to visit comfortably by car. About 13 spaces are available.

⏰ Coffee Dripper, the must-visit café in Chodang-dong, Gangneung, is open Wednesday through Monday, 10:00–18:00, and closed every Tuesday. Please check the hours before visiting. Aside from Tuesdays, it's open every day.

Floor-to-ceiling window views and plant-filled interior

I loved the vibe the moment I walked in! Honestly, while the coffee itself matters, a café is also a place to sit and relax and talk, so I think the atmosphere really matters too. Coffee Dripper's atmosphere was genuinely so good.

The floor-to-ceiling windows give such a great view, an open, airy feeling. The whole café doesn't feel cramped at all thanks to those big windows opening up the sightlines. Being able to sip coffee while looking out at the green scenery of Chodang-dong was such a great view — very satisfying.

A hand-drip roasting café that started in Gyodong

Coffee Dripper, the must-visit café in Chodang-dong, Gangneung, is a roasting café that started out in Gyodong, Gangneung. True to a name like Coffee Dripper, it's a hand-drip specialty shop — though I actually didn't get to try the hand-drip coffee this time, so I definitely want to come back.

My family settled in here and rested a while :) This was our last stop before heading home on the final day of our Gangneung trip, and finishing the trip on such a good note made the whole thing feel even happier.

And of course, the plant-filled interior I love so much 🌿 The warm wood tones combined with all the greenery — that's my favorite kind of café atmosphere, so it made things even better. Something about it really makes you feel like you've properly rested, haha.

What we ordered — Dripper Signature Cream Latte, Pine Forest Matcha Latte

The dessert menu isn't huge, but each item looks refined and delicious! We picked one to try too — good, fragrant coffee needs a dessert to go with it, after all.

The two of us ordered the signature latte! Just hearing 'cream latte' made it sound so delicious that we ordered one each, and my younger brother got the matcha latte.

It's not just the atmosphere at Coffee Dripper that's good — the coffee itself is really good too ☕️

The order came out quickly, not much of a wait at all. From the tray to the cutlery to the coffee cup, you could really tell they paid attention to detail. Those little details seem to shape the overall vibe of the café, and I liked that.

The Pine Forest Matcha Latte and the Dripper Signature Cream Latte — got to admit the visuals alone are lovely, right? It's rare to visit a cute café and get to relax while also taking pretty coffee photos. But looks weren't even the main point — the taste was even better.

How did the cream latte and matcha latte taste?

The matcha latte had such a strong, fragrant matcha aroma that it was genuinely moving, and the cream latte just melts in your mouth. Truly, really smooth, slightly sweet, and so delicious. This is a proper coffee spot, confirmed. Honestly, aesthetic cafés often disappoint on coffee flavor, but here the coffee is delicious too.

The dessert was also packed full of chocolate cream inside 🖤 We finished it so fast that I only got one photo, but the bottom line is: it was delicious. If you like dessert, definitely order one.

Thoughts after visiting with a baby and family

We visited as a family with our baby, and between the delicious coffee and dessert and the wide-open view, there was nothing lacking — we got to rest really well. Whenever we travel, we always make sure to stop at a café at least once, and this place was such a highlight of our Gangneung trip that I'd love to come back next time we're in Gangneung ⋰˚★
