Texture-testing sinks at KHODE, a Pangyo beauty store in Seongnam

This is Kiki, always serious about shopping. I went down to Hyundai Department Store Pangyo to get my bracelet cleaned, wandered into the basement, and ended up at KHODE, a beauty platform that just opened. I usually buy cosmetics at Olive Young or online, but here you can actually test products, and the moment I saw premium organic skincare brand URANG had a spot, I walked in like I was under a spell.

Inside the KHODE store: layout and atmosphere

Located on B1, KHODE is a customized specialty shopping space where you can check out and buy a variety of cosmetics suited to your skin type in person.

The store overall had a clean, bright atmosphere.

There were affordable finds at opening-special prices, and it was helpful to see what products are trending these days.

What stood out most was the sink and testing space where you can try the texture of a product you like before buying — you could actually feel the texture and emulsion process of a cleansing oil. Nowhere else lets you check texture like that!

The staff were friendly and felt professional too, haha.

URANG, premium organic skincare: the Natural Cleansing Oil

URANG is a brand founded by an aromatherapist and is well known as an organic skincare specialist.

URANG's name literally means "love of organic"! It's said to be growing into a global skincare brand now sold across 19 countries, including Europe and the US.

Of everything URANG has at KHODE Hyundai Department Store, I tested and brought home their signature item, the Natural Cleansing Oil.

It costs ₩29,000 for 150ml, packaged in a neat box. My makeup isn't usually heavy, but I have sensitive skin, so I'm always careful about the cleansing oil I choose.

I liked that it doesn't use artificial fragrance. Looking at the cleansing oil ingredients: safflower seed, apricot kernel, grape seed, jojoba seed, sunflower seed, sweet almond, olive, Philippine orange whole plant oil, and more — full of gentle plant-based ingredients.

One week with URANG Natural Cleansing Oil: an honest review

I put it to real use at home after work,

and instead of that headache-inducing artificial fragrance smell, it had a subtle, natural plant scent.

It emulsified pretty well too.

To show off its cleansing power, I applied eyebrow pencil, lipstick, and eye pencil on my right cheek. Here's a no-Photoshop video showing how well the cleansing oil removed it.

Before and after: even the strongly pigmented tint and makeup came off completely, and this cost a third of the Japanese cleansing oil I used to use, yet it removed makeup even more easily.

Because it gently removes impurities and dead skin cells without clogging pores, blackheads looked cleaner too. You know that feeling when a good cleansing oil seems to pull sebum right out?

Who the URANG oil suits (and the Yuzu Vita Ampoule)

If you want strong cleansing power and are an organic-skincare fan looking for a cleansing oil with good ingredients, URANG is worth trying^^ After washing my face, I also used their organic-certified Yuzu Vita Ampoule, and this thing is something else.

I'm switching my basic skincare over to URANG now too. The yuzu scent alone is natural yet fresh enough that I'd want to wear it as perfume.
