A well-rounded, budget-friendly sushi restaurant that's held its spot for over 10 years
While looking for a lunch spot in Bangi-dong, I wanted something clean and simple, so I went to Susi Seon Bangi Branch. I thought it would just be sushi, but it came with a warm porridge starter and side dishes too, making for a surprisingly filling meal.

It wasn't hard to find while walking around the Bangi-dong food alley, and it was an easy distance for a lunchtime visit. If driving, using a nearby public or paid parking lot seems more convenient.

Inside Susi Seon Bangi Branch: counter seats facing the chef
Walking into Susi Seon Bangi Branch, it had the warm feel of a Japanese restaurant decorated mostly in wood. There were counter seats where you can watch the chef make sushi, along with tables for 2-4 people.
It was fine for eating with my husband, and it also didn't feel awkward to sit alone at the counter for lunch. Overall it was quiet and cozy, better suited for a relaxed meal than a lively atmosphere.

A Bangi-dong sushi restaurant open for more than 10 years
What stood out about Susi Seon Bangi Branch was that it's been running in the same spot for a long time. It's said to have held its place in Bangi-dong for over 10 years, and looking at the menu makes it clear why people keep coming back.
Rather than just serving sushi, they bring out porridge and bibim noodles beforehand, and after the meal come dishes like udon or memil (buckwheat noodles), which made the whole meal feel quite substantial. Side dishes like hand-breaded pork cutlet are also cooked fresh on order, which seems great for anyone who wants to enjoy a variety of dishes alongside their sushi.

Here are the signature sushi menu items at Susi Seon Bangi Branch.

- Special sushi 10pcs ₩17,000
- Chef's choice sushi 10pcs ₩21,000
- Couple set for 2 ₩38,000

The couple set comes with sushi 16pcs plus hand-breaded pork cutlet and mini udon, which looked like a good choice for two people. We ordered the special sushi for two that day.
Special sushi for two, starting with porridge and bibim noodles
After ordering, the porridge and bibim noodles to eat before the meal came out first.

The warm porridge was soft and easy to eat, and the bibim noodles that came with it were tangy and slightly spicy, which helped whet the appetite. It was a nice light bite while waiting for the sushi, and I liked that this basic set is included.

From flounder, salmon and tuna to sea urchin gunkan rolls
Soon after, the special sushi arrived neatly arranged on one plate. It included a wide variety — flounder, salmon, tuna, soy sauce shrimp, king sweet shrimp, eel, and sea urchin gunkan (rice roll) — so we could taste many things off just one plate.
With familiar favorites like shrimp and eel mixed in with sea urchin gunkan, it was fun to pick through the menu one piece at a time. Overall the flavors leaned more toward being crowd-pleasing and easy to eat rather than bold or intense.

It's a different vibe from high-end sushi restaurants that push the raw fish flavor front and center — this felt like a comfortable, easygoing sushi meal for lunch. True to its name, the special had a nice variety, which made it fun to share piece by piece with my husband and figure out which ones we liked best.

The warm udon served after the sushi
After finishing the sushi, we also had warm udon on the side. Having a warm broth after the sushi felt like it cleaned up the palate nicely.

Having a warm side dish like this rather than just ending with sushi made the lunch feel a bit more complete.

Is Susi Seon Bangi Branch a good spot for a solo lunch?
Susi Seon Bangi Branch has counter seats, so it's relatively comfortable to use for a solo meal too. If you want a simple sushi meal or sashimi rice bowl (₩17,000) at lunchtime, it seems fine to visit alone.
We visited together as a couple, but since the tables aren't large, it also felt suited to a small meal or a casual date. What stood out about Susi Seon Bangi Branch was being able to enjoy a variety of sushi at a reasonable price along with porridge, bibim noodles, and udon for a filling meal, rather than fancy high-end sushi.
If you're looking for a solid, no-fuss sushi meal near the Bangi-dong food alley or Songpanaru Station, this is a place worth visiting :)
