Mentsuru is close to Children's Grand Park Station — right in front of the Line 7 station, so it's easy to get to. Since it was the weekend, there were surprisingly quite a few families with babies too. Peak times can have a wait, but table turnover is fairly fast!

The interior has this kind of style ~~ clean and spacious haha.

Especially since there's an open kitchen, you can watch the cooking happen, which makes it feel clean too!

Mentsuru menu, prices and the late-night Asahi discount

Mentsuru's menu is really varied! Ramen options include shoyu ramen, motsu ramen, abura soba and more, generally priced between ₩11,000 and 15,000. In this era of high prices, a filling meal like this might actually count as pretty good value?

There's also a wide selection of drinks, so you can choose Asahi draft beer or various other drinks >_< Especially if you go late at night, Asahi gets discounted, so keep that in mind!

The price range seems reasonable enough to enjoy without much burden.

Tasting the tori paitan, karaage and hormone-don at Mentsuru

What I ordered was the tori paitan! The broth was rich and deep — really delicious! If you like chicken gomtang (milky chicken soup), you'll definitely love this flavor.

The noodles were chewy too, and the soft egg and meat toppings were seriously... so good. And the karaage (Japanese fried chicken) I ordered as a side was crispy and delicious too! Seems handmade? It became my boyfriend's favorite dish lol.

And the hormone-don (offal rice bowl)! It comes topped with woo-samgyeop (sliced beef brisket), so it doesn't feel greasy or heavy, plus scallion, onion, wasabi, and pickled ginger!

You're supposed to dip the hormone into the egg yolk haha. Pile on a ton of wasabi and take a big bite.

Plus, join the review event and get takoyaki or 4 pieces of gyoza free ♥ This is how we ate ourselves silly, and it was such a satisfying meal!

All the staff at Mentsuru were so kind haha. They gave careful explanations when we ordered and took care of anything we needed right away.
