I was looking for somewhere to eat alone near City Hall Station and ended up at Mentsuru City Hall Branch.
It's less than 100m from Exit 10 of City Hall Station, so it was really easy to get to, and they had all kinds of menu options — from ramen to donburi (rice bowls) — perfect for a solo meal.

Bar seats at Mentsuru: good for a solo meal in Jung-gu
Inside, there were counter seats (bar seats) set up, which made it easy to visit alone.
At my seat, water, a cup, utensils, and pepper were all already set out, so I could use whatever I needed right away.
There were also a lot of autographs from well-known celebrities on the walls.

What I ordered that day was hormone-don and peach cider.
The hormone-don is 15,000 won, listed on the kiosk as beef intestine rice bowl. When the bowl arrived, there was an egg yolk sitting right in the center, and it was piled generously with beef intestine, meat, onion, scallion, chili, ginger, and more.
What really caught my eye was the glossy beef intestine. The nicely grilled parts were coated in sauce and looked really delicious.
You break the yolk in the middle and mix it in with the rice, and on one side there was a generous helping of raw onion and scallion. It was also nice that chili and wasabi were served separately.
When you visit a ramen specialty restaurant, ramen is usually the first thing that comes to mind, but Mentsuru City Hall Branch also has rice bowl options, so if you're a fan of rice dishes, it's worth checking those out too.
The peach cider I ordered alongside it was 4,000 won. It's a Japanese-style cider with an eye-catching pink bottle, and it photographed really well next to the hormone-don.
The bottle was really pretty.

The hormone-don I ordered came generously loaded with beef intestine, meat, egg yolk, onion, and scallion, and paired with the peach cider, it made for a really great meal.
