Pohang ocean-view pasta restaurant: Plan A Restaurant

In short

Plan A Restaurant is a Western restaurant on the fourth floor of a beachfront building in Songdo, Pohang, with sea views through floor-to-ceiling windows. My friend and I shared risotto, a cheese salad, and spicy broth shrimp spaghetti; the portions were generous and the mix of creamy, tangy, and spicy dishes worked well.

My friend and I went to Plan A Restaurant (플랜에이레스토랑) in Songdo, Pohang, for lunch with a sea view. We shared three dishes—risotto, salad, and spaghetti—while looking out at the sea through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

How did we find the restaurant and park by Songdo Beach?

The restaurant is on the fourth floor of the building at 1189 Huimang-daero, directly across from Songdo Beach. The hours listed in the original post are 11:45–21:00, with a break time from 15:15 to 17:00.

We parked on the roadside and went up. Parking was easy during our visit, and seeing the sea around the building put me in a good mood even before we entered.

After taking the elevator to the fourth floor, we came to a charming entrance.

Can you see the sea well from inside?

As soon as we walked in, the sea beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows made the room feel open and refreshing. The blue sea complemented the white-toned interior, and the tables were white and brown. There were also plenty of reserved tables for four and six people.

What did we order for two, and how much was it?

There was a kiosk at each table. The two of us ordered three dishes.

  • Mushroom basil pesto cream risotto: ₩15,000
  • Burrata cheese salad: ₩14,000
  • Spicy broth shrimp spaghetti: ₩16,000

How did the risotto, salad, and spicy spaghetti taste?

The dishes arrived one at a time. I chose the mushroom basil pesto cream risotto because its color looked appetizing. The rice had a nicely cooked texture and a basil aroma, while the cream sauce was smooth and savory. It did not feel rich or heavy to me.

The burrata cheese salad had a sweet-and-tangy balsamic sauce, and the tomatoes and vegetables tasted fresh. I also liked the combination of moist bread with cheese and vegetables.

The spicy broth shrimp spaghetti felt like it refreshed my palate between the cream risotto and salad. The chewy noodles and springy shrimp went well with the spicy sauce, so I kept reaching for it.

Alternating between the savory risotto, tangy salad, and spicy spaghetti, I thought the three dishes went well together.

Were the portions enough for two, and who was there?

At first, I wondered whether we might have food left over, but the portions were generous and the two of us ate until we were full. Considering the taste and portion sizes, I was satisfied with the prices. My friend looked over the menu, saying she wanted to return with her husband.

At lunchtime, there were office workers who had reserved ahead, as well as couples and families. I made a note to revisit because I would like to show the sea view and food to friends visiting from other areas.

After our meal, we also took photos in the mirror in front of the restroom.
