Today's spot is good on both taste and value. This is Teukbyeolhan Chobap, located in Yeongtong, Suwon.

Where is Teukbyeolhan Chobap? 2nd floor of Yeongtong Central Shopping Center
Teukbyeolhan Chobap sits right inside Yeongtong Central Shopping Center! It's on the 2nd floor, next to Haekbap and Rolling Pasta. It's smack in the middle of the shopping center, so it's easy to get to and easy to spot.

Every plate at Teukbyeolhan Chobap is a flat 1,890 won
At Teukbyeolhan Chobap, every single plate is ₩1,890. Isn't that great value? At other places the price changes depending on the plate color, which makes you hesitant to eat too much, but here everything's the same price so you can relax and just keep eating.

When does Teukbyeolhan Chobap have a wait?
Here's the entrance! It's right to the left when you get off the elevator, so it's easy to find. This time I went on a weekday lunch and there was no wait at all! I remember waiting a little the last time I came for weekday lunch, and once I went on a weekday or weekend evening — that wait was really long!! If you're heading over in the evening or on weekends, I'd recommend checking the wait on Catch Table first. A wait usually means it's a good restaurant, right? I've already been here more than five times.

Bar seats vs table seats, plus points and events
We sat at the bar. There are table seats too, not just the bar! At table seats you order via tablet and they bring the food to you. But I personally like conveyor-belt sushi best when I can pick whatever looks good straight off the rail, haha.
And here's why Teukbyeolhan Chobap is really great:
- Points system
- Roulette event
- Receipt event
So many ways to earn points and join events! If you go, make sure to grab all of them. I entered the roulette event hoping that one day I'll land the ₩50,000 prize.
Table setup, wasabi, and the hot soup
At each seat there's a cup, tissues, pickled radish, ginger, soy sauce, and everything else you need for eating sushi already set up. Only the essentials are there, so the table doesn't feel cramped.
I love wasabi so I piled it on. I don't think the sushi came with wasabi already mixed in, if I recall correctly, so if you're a wasabi lover, check and add it in yourself.
The owner also brings out soup. And if you finish it, just ask for a refill and they'll keep bringing more. You know soup is essential with sushi, right?
Watching the sushi made right in front of you
Another fun part of conveyor-belt sushi is getting to watch the sushi being made up close. They kept making sushi right in front of us. And every time a new plate went up, they'd call out what it was, so I kept paying attention to both what I saw and what I heard. Warm sushi especially is best eaten the moment it comes out, so I kept watching closely.

Even at lunch, people kept coming in and most of the seats were filled. Because of that, the turnover was great — new sushi kept going up and getting taken, which was nice.

Ordering off the menu instead of the rail
There's a menu too! Meat, sashimi, egg, and lots of other sushi types — and it seemed like there were even some options not on the rail (I might be wrong, haha). If you don't see what you want going around, just check the menu and ask, and they'll make it for you. We ordered quite a lot that way too.

These are all the sushi plates we ate. Most come in 2 pieces, while fin, eel, and yukhoe (raw beef) sushi come in 1 piece. Can you see how good this looks? I want to eat it all over again, ugh. My boyfriend who came with me grabbed one the second we sat down, haha.

We just kept eating until we were completely stuffed. Look at the color and size of that flounder fin — how could you resist that? I ate the fin sushi twice on its own, it was seriously that good. We also ordered tempura, and since it's fried fresh to order, it wasn't just warm, it was actually hot. I love little details like that. We were too full to try the futomaki, but I watched the table next to us eat it and it looked huge — about the size of three regular gimbap rolls. I'll definitely try it next time.

Waiting area and lunch takeout at Teukbyeolhan Chobap
The entrance is set up so you can sit and wait either outside or inside. Also, ordering takeout at lunch here is even better value, so if you're planning to take out, keep that in mind!
Top 3 menu picks at Teukbyeolhan Chobap
Based on my personal taste, here are the best sushi I had:
- Flounder fin sushi (광어지느러미) - the fin is huge, fatty, and nutty — a real treasure. Next time I want to order five plates of just this.
- Egg shrimp sushi (계란새우) - the sauce paired so well, and both the egg and shrimp were delicious and generously sized. Such a great sushi.
- Fried shrimp tempura (새우튀김) - fried fresh to order, so you get it warm — the best part.
The two of us really ate somewhere between 25 and 30 plates. My stomach almost burst. And yes, we even had drinks on top of that, no secret there, haha.
