Today I want to introduce a Mangwon-dong bakery that I've now revisited more than five times. When I really like a bakery, I tend to keep trying new items from the menu — and Boulangerie Copain is a place where I've almost never had a bread that disappointed me. This time too, I picked one of each kind, and once again I was satisfied.

Where is Boulangerie Copain and what are its hours?

Boulangerie Copain is located at 115 Huiujeong-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, 1st floor, and is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00. No parking is available.

It's a bakery that catches your eye as you walk through Mangwon-dong. With its black interior, it stands out from a distance, and just getting close to it you can smell delicious bread! I came again this time to buy bread. It's a place I personally love enough to visit more than five times, so I wanted to introduce it to anyone looking for a bakery in Mangwon-dong. The variety of bread is especially wide, so every time I visit I end up agonizing over what to choose.

How ordering works inside Boulangerie Copain

The five breads picked this visit and what they cost

This time I picked out a total of five breads at Boulangerie Copain.

  • Corn cheese sausage croissant ₩6,000
  • Castella cream bread ₩5,000
  • Quinieman ₩4,800
  • Cinnamon crofin ₩4,500
  • Pain suisse ₩5,500

That's five kinds total, and it was fun to try each one.

Corn cheese sausage croissant: the best bite at Boulangerie Copain

The tastiest thing I tried this time was the corn cheese sausage croissant (₩6,000). A sausage is tucked inside the savory croissant, and the sausage was so juicy that the flavor hit right away with the first bite. Combined with mayonnaise on top, the salty-savory combination was really delicious. Personally, this is the one I'd most recommend from this visit.

Castella cream bread: moister than expected

My second recommendation is the castella cream bread (₩5,000). Honestly, based on the name alone, I expected something drier, so I was surprised at how moist it was. The bread itself is soft and the cream inside is delicious too — it would pair well with coffee.

The remaining breads each had their own charm, and it was fun to pick one at a time. In order, they were quinieman, cinnamon crofin, and pain suisse. Above all, out of everything I've tried across my many visits to Boulangerie Copain, there's almost never been a miss. So if it's your first visit, I'd recommend starting with the kind of bread you already like.

Is Boulangerie Copain worth a Mangwon-dong bakery run?

If you're looking for a bakery in Mangwon-dong, I want to recommend Boulangerie Copain. I've already visited more than five times, and every time I've tried a variety of breads that left me satisfied overall. This time in particular, the corn cheese sausage croissant and the castella cream bread were really delicious.

If you like the combination of juicy sausage and mayonnaise, definitely try the corn cheese sausage croissant, and if you like soft, moist cream bread, I'd recommend the castella cream bread too. If you're planning a Mangwon-dong bakery pilgrimage, pick the bread that suits your taste. I think I'll be picking something new again on my next visit too!
