Beef tartare and frosty soju at a Bupyeong Station pork belly bar

In short

Eolkeuni Gamjatang Samgyeopsal Bupyeong Station Branch is a 24-hour pork belly and pork bone soup bar near Bupyeong Station in Incheon. Two friends ordered 3 servings of pork belly, got a free pork bone soup, added beef tartare, and went through more than 3 bottles of frosty soju pulled straight from the fridge. The verdict: this spread makes much more sense, and much better value, for a group of 3-4 than for two.

Today I went with a friend to Eolkeuni Gamjatang Samgyeopsal Bupyeong Station Branch (얼큰이감자탕삼겹살 부평역점) near Bupyeong Station. We wanted pork belly, we wanted gamjatang (spicy pork bone soup), and we absolutely could not skip beef tartare either... While we were fighting the eternal battle of what to actually order, we found out this place gives you gamjatang for free if you order 3 servings of pork belly.

Wait, you can eat pork belly AND gamjatang? There was nothing to think about, haha. We headed straight to Eolkeuni Gamjatang Samgyeopsal.

What's the vibe and seating like?

The place has about 48 seats inside, so it felt more spacious and comfortable than I expected — good for a casual drink with a friend, and also good for a work dinner or group gathering near Bupyeong Station. If you need a group visit or reservation, calling ahead is probably a good idea.

3 servings of pork belly, plus free gamjatang — the whole reason we came

The biggest reason we picked this place was exactly that: order 3 servings of pork belly and gamjatang comes along with it. When you and your friend can't agree on what to eat, this is perfect — pork belly and gamjatang in the same spot. Getting grilled meat plus a hot bowl of soup for a reasonable price made the value really solid.

They swapped out a fatty cut before we even asked

At first we were grilling and eating happily, and we set aside one strip of meat to cook a little later. While the staff member was tending the fire, they noticed the leftover strip had way too much fat on it and swapped it out for a fresh one — without us saying a single word! I was honestly a little touched. The store's claim about managing all their raw meat themselves and caring about same-day freshness clearly wasn't just talk. That kind of thoughtful service really does make the whole meal feel better, you know? Sniff.

How was the beef tartare?

We couldn't stop at just pork belly, so of course we ordered beef tartare too. It felt a little frozen when it first arrived, but after waiting a bit for it to thaw naturally, it was really good. A bite of pork belly, then a bite of tartare — it felt like my mouth was starting over each time, so I kept going back for more, haha.

When the gamjatang broth tastes salty

The gamjatang we'd been waiting for finally arrived. My first sip made me think, 'huh, is this a little salty?' But then I realized we'd let it simmer a long time while eating our pork belly, so the broth had reduced down. So we added a splash of water and simmered it again, and — oh my god — it was ridiculously good. Spicy, deep broth loaded with meat, great to finish off the pork belly with, and even better to keep spooning up as a drinking snack. With 3 servings of pork belly and gamjatang together, this combo felt like a blessing for anyone who wants to eat everything.

Drinks straight from the fridge, and frosty soju

Another unique thing about this place: you grab your own drinks directly from the fridge. It was convenient to pull out whatever we wanted right away, and best of all, the soju was kept genuinely cold. Finding soju that cold, that frosty, isn't as easy as you'd think, right? This is the rare place where you actually get to meet that precious frosty soju.

I honestly don't remember exactly how many bottles we went through, but we definitely hit 3, haha. A shot with the pork belly, a shot with the tartare, another with the spicy gamjatang broth — the soju just kept flowing.

The bathroom: inside the restaurant, spacious and clean

One thing I personally really appreciated: the bathroom. It's inside the restaurant, which is convenient, and it's spacious and really well kept and clean. Bathroom cleanliness quietly matters when you're picking a place to drink, right? Finding an inside bathroom this big and clean in Bupyeong is rare, and Eolkeuni Gamjatang Samgyeopsal pulled it off, haha. Bathroom cleanliness is the whole package here, and I was very satisfied with this part too.

How many people should go?

The two of us went through pork belly, tartare, and gamjatang, and honestly there was so much food we had to leave a bit at the end. Flip that around, though, and if 4 people ordered this same combo, the value would be insane. A group grilling meat together, with gamjatang and tartare on the side and drinks flowing, would make for a really full, satisfying night out. If you're near Bupyeong Station wanting pork belly but can't give up spicy gamjatang, and you also want to work in beef tartare and cold soju, Eolkeuni Gamjatang Samgyeopsal Bupyeong Station Branch is worth a visit. Especially with 3-4 people rather than just 2, you can enjoy a much wider, more generous spread. If you're looking for a spot for a work dinner or a get-together with friends near Bupyeong Station, or a 24-hour restaurant in Bupyeong for a solid late-night meal, keep this one in mind!
