Hapjeong terrace café with Ethiopian single-farmer drip: Central Site
In short
Central Site Hapjeong is a roastery café with an outdoor terrace in Mapo, Seoul, a 3-minute walk from Exit 2 of Hapjeong Station. On this return visit the order was an Ethiopia single-farmer Niguse Gemeda Baturo hand drip (classic washed) with classic tiramisu, taken out on the terrace. The bright, gently acidic drip and the moist tiramisu are exactly why Central Site Hapjeong is worth a second trip.

Let me introduce a café I revisited 🤗 The combo of hand-drip coffee and tiramisu kept popping into my head, so I went back again! Hapjeong's Central Site is a spot that's seriously dedicated to coffee and tiramisu ☕️
Central Site Hapjeong from outside: a terrace café near Hapjeong Station

Central Site near Hapjeong Station has an outdoor space where you can really feel terrace season ☀️ The breeze was so nice out that I decided to sit on the terrace myself haha
Inside Central Site Hapjeong: roasting room and where to sit

They roast their own beans, so there's a roasting room right inside the store 🫘 There's also lemon water on one side, so if you need water, you can just help yourself!

The space is pretty large, so there were lots of tables. But Central Site gets packed at lunchtime — every table fills up! It seems to thin out after 2:30 or 3pm though 🤭

At Central Site they hand-drip specialty beans right in front of you haha. I don't often get to drink specialty coffee, so every time I come here I get so excited~
Central Site Hapjeong menu and how to choose your beans

There's regular brewing (hand-drip) coffee, specialty beans, and non-coffee drinks on the menu.

To the left of the order counter, they have beans from all over the world, including specialty coffees, lined up. You can smell them yourself and choose which one to drink.

🍫 There are three types of tiramisu — brownie tiramisu, lotus tiramisu, and classic tiramisu. I've only tried the classic tiramisu, but I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I ordered it again this time!👍
Ethiopia Niguse Gemeda Baturo hand drip with classic tiramisu

The bean I picked was the Ethiopia Single Farmer Niguse Gemeda Baturo! It's processed using the classic washed method haha. This single-farmer coffee comes from the village of Baturo, in the Sidama region of Ethiopia, at an altitude of roughly 2,450m or higher, and Niguse Gemeda is regarded as one of Ethiopia's leading specialty coffee producers.

The first aroma bursts with elegant jasmine and white floral notes, followed by a delicate citrus quality reminiscent of orange, lemon, and bergamot 🍊

Layers of complex floral notes build on top of a clear, candy-like sweetness — that brightness and refinement so characteristic of Ethiopian coffee.
There's a bit of citrus but the acidity isn't overwhelming, so it paired so well with the moist, subtly sweet tiramisu cake 🍰 This combo is exactly why I came back to Central Site Hapjeong 💛 They say it's the signature dessert here and one that's consistently loved — totally makes sense! Even writing this now, I want to eat it again 🤤
What the terrace seats at Central Site Hapjeong are like
In this lovely season, I recommend healing yourself at Central Site Hapjeong, a hand-drip spot that's great for relaxing on the outdoor terrace 💯 The staff are kind too, and if you sit on the terrace you'll often spot cute dogs out on walks, which made it even more healing 🐶
