Seogwipo grass-yard black pork BBQ, whale soju: Jeju Healing Dwaeji

In short

Jeju Healing Dwaeji is a Jeju black pork grill house with grass-yard outdoor tables (yajang) on Maljil-ro, in front of Gangjeong Port in Seogwipo, Jeju. The order was a geun (600g) of black pork, kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) and somaek (beer and soju), served with four kinds of salt, homemade myeoljeot (fermented anchovy dipping sauce) and a butter sauce with olives and jalapeños, then grilled tangerines to finish. With Hallasan soju turning the whale-shaped shot glass red and the sunset over the water, Jeju Healing Dwaeji fills you up on romance before the food does.

Today I'm introducing Jeju Healing Dwaeji in Seogwipo, Jeju — anyone who's been will immediately get why it's called 'Healing Pig'!!!

September 2026, Jeju with its cool, breezy weather — honestly, if you don't eat outdoor-table black pork samgyeopsal in this kind of refreshing weather, you'd be a fool haha!!! And Jeju black pork is also a must-eat menu whenever you visit Jeju!! Today I'll be posting about the place that checks every one of those boxes, Jeju Healing Dwaeji 🐷🐽💕

Wide grass lawn in front of Jeju Healing Dwaeji

Grass-yard outdoor tables at Jeju Healing Dwaeji: does it even look like a BBQ restaurant?

Jeju Healing Dwaeji has a wide grass lawn in front of the shop, so it seems great for group reservations or large gatherings haha. And honestly, a lawn takes so much upkeep… the fact that it's this well maintained means the owner has golden hands!!

When I first saw it, I thought I'd arrived at some pension. From the huge grass-yard tables to the romantic view and space 💘 … is this really a BBQ restaurant…?

Once I came to my senses, yep, it's a Jeju black pork BBQ place haha. Here's the interior!! The weather was so nice today that we sat at an outdoor table haha.

Jeju Healing Dwaeji sits right in front of Seogwipo's Gangjeong Port, so you get a wide-open ocean view, and it's only 5 minutes from Seogwipo Cruise Terminal!

There was already a warm family and a romance-filled couple of guys there haha.

What a geun (600g) of black pork, kimchi jjigae and four salts look like

We ordered a geun of black pork, kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew), and somaek (soju-beer mix)!! I noticed the healing set comes with wine included — with this kind of atmosphere, the romance would be doubled 🆙💙🆙

A geun of black pork with the basic table setting

Pepper salt, prickly pear salt, organic green tea salt, garlic salt… the salt selection here is Michelin-level haha. Personally, I think truly delicious pork calls for salt over ssamjang (soybean dipping sauce), so having this many salt options says the owner takes real pride in the black pork samgyeopsal!

Four salts: pepper, prickly pear, green tea, and garlic

Real Jeju black pork: the skin still shows the black hair pores

The pork was real black pork too — native Jeju black pigs often keep black hair pores on the skin, and those little black dots are basically the mark that certifies it's black pork. A lot of people wonder about the difference between Jeju black pork and white pork: black pigs have fewer piglets per litter and a much longer raising period than white pigs!! Also, the redness of the meat and the ratio of unsaturated fatty acids run over 15% higher than white pork, so even the same fatty cuts taste much nuttier and cleaner 😆

Coastal walking path view seen while eating

Plus, at Jeju Healing Dwaeji this view is free… eating leisurely here while watching people jog along the coast or walk their dogs… made me think — I'm not even that busy, so why don't I ever have this kind of leisure..🥲

Homemade myeoljeot, olives and jalapeños: side dishes unlike other grill houses

The owner's sense of style showed in the side dishes too!! From homemade myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) to olives and jalapeños that felt like a picnic abroad… I came to eat, but I left just as full on romance ❤️🔥

Black pork pre-grilled over a charcoal grill

Charcoal pre-grilling by the owner, and grilled tangerines at the end

Healing Dwaeji insists on using only black pork raised in Jeju, and uses real charcoal to bring out the deep flavor of the black pork to its fullest haha.

The owner also pre-grilled the meat for us just right, so we ate it more warmly and comfortably 🥹🙏💕 Oh! And speaking of Jeju, you have to mention tangerines 🍊 They grilled tangerines for us too, and this was my first time trying grilled tangerine at the end of a meal — it tasted like a super sweet roasted sweet potato? A great little dish to cleanse the palate at the end haha.

Hallasan soju in the whale shot glass that turns sunset red

You can't skip Hallasan soju once you're in Jeju!!!

Hallasan soju on the table

And when you pour the cold Jeju Hallasan soju in, that lovely whale-shaped soju cup turns sunset-red!! 100% romance — this is the real Healing Dwaeji 🐷🐽💕🐷🐽💕

The butter sauce with olives and jalapeños that the owner recommended was a fun twist too, letting us enjoy the black pork samgyeopsal — or was it ogyeopsal (five-layer pork belly)? — in a whole different way haha.

The side kimchi jjigae was excellent too… honestly the only thing to fault here is my own alcohol tolerance? I want to crack open a whole case of soju haha.

Sunset view for free: final verdict on Jeju Healing Dwaeji

The beautiful Jeju sunset view you get at Healing Dwaeji is free 🌅 thanks to that, it felt like a special time that I'll remember for a long while haha.

Crescent moon in the sky after sunset

Even a healing crescent moon… today, I was the one who got healed at Healing Dwaeji haha. From the owner to the staff, even their one kind word to us… I felt like I'd walked onto a drama set, hand over mouth 🫢 It made me promise myself I'll do a month-long stay in Jeju someday. Jeju Healing Dwaeji! Even without my post, this place deserves to be loved, and the people made it a perfect movie. Highly recommend!!!!!!! You have absolutely have to go!! Whenever I come to Jeju, I come here without fail 🫶 Wishing the owner happiness 😻
