Seongsan restaurant with a baby: minced pork rice bowl at Seobiu Udon

In short

Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu is a udon and pork cutlet (donkatsu) restaurant on Goseongojo-ro in Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo, Jeju, within walking distance of Seongsan Ilchulbong. The couple ordered the minced pork rice bowl (minchi jeyuk deopbap) topped with a poached egg, a fresh pork loin cutlet set that comes with mini udon, and a mixed tempura plate, and the minced pork rice bowl was their top pick. Free parking at Goseong Market is a 2–3 minute stroller walk away, which made Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu an easy meal stop with a baby.

Today I'm introducing a pork cutlet restaurant near Seongsan Ilchulbong that was great to visit with our baby during our Jeju trip — Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu.🍴

What is Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu like inside?

Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu is a udon and pork cutlet specialty restaurant on Goseongojo-ro in Seongsan-eup. The interior was tidy, which made it comfortable to sit with our baby. When we visit restaurants with a baby, the taste of the food matters, but I always end up checking how clean the interior is kept too.

The overall tidy atmosphere the moment we walked in was really pleasing. My husband said it as soon as he sat down —

This place is really clean!

He said it that emphatically.😎

Where do you park near Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu?

When visiting Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu, we used the Goseong Market parking lot. There's a sign in front of the restaurant saying parking is available there from 11:30AM to 1:30PM.

We visited in the evening, so we didn't use the parking in front of the store and instead used the Goseong Market lot. It was about a 2-3 minute walk from the parking lot to the restaurant pushing the stroller. The lot was spacious and free, which was convenient. When moving around with a baby, parking is often the first thing to worry about, but that day we could get to the restaurant without any parking-related hassle.

Self-serve bar and open kitchen

The self-serve bar had kimchi, pickled radish (danmuji), small plates, and simple sauces, and it all looked clean overall. The kitchen was run as an open kitchen where you could see the cooking process. Eating with a baby, these details naturally caught my eye. Because the whole restaurant was kept so clean, we could wait for our food with Hani a little more at ease.🫶🏻

What we ordered at Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu

We'd just climbed all the way up Seongsan Ilchulbong before coming here, so both of us were starving! We ordered a bunch of things without much hesitation.

  • Pork loin cutlet set (includes mini udon)
  • Assorted fried vegetables and shrimp

Our top pick: the minced pork rice bowl with poached egg

Minced pork rice bowl topped with a poached egg

The dish we enjoyed most that day was the minced pork rice bowl! We popped the poached egg and mixed it all together with the seasoned pork, and the moment we took a bite, we both said at the same time —

Wow — this is good.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 The pork itself tasted great, but the crispy bits of fried batter mixed in added an even more varied texture.

And one combination we really enjoyed! We scooped up a big spoonful of the pork rice bowl, put a piece of pork cutlet on top, and took a big bite — the two dishes really went well together.

With the soft poached egg, the pork, the rice, and the crispy cutlet all at once, it was the kind of flavor that keeps you reaching for more! Our clear top pick that day was the minced pork rice bowl.🖤

The fresh pork loin cutlet

The meat was cut to a nice thickness, so you could really feel the bite of the pork. What I liked most was the crispy batter! Crisp on the outside, tender inside — the texture was great. Hani kept stealing the crumbs of fried batter from the side, though...?

That's mom and dad's, you knowww...

I said, but seeing her eat it so happily made me laugh anyway. It must have suited her taste buds too, haha.

Mini udon: our baby Hani's favourite part

Mini udon served with the pork cutlet set

Can't forget the mini udon that came with the cutlet set. It wasn't too strongly seasoned, so we mixed in a little rice and fed it to Hani, and she ate it really well. The udon noodles were chewy and delicious too. After trying it that day, I thought next time we should order a full udon dish on its own instead of the mini version.

What comes on the mixed tempura plate

Since we were so hungry, we thoroughly ordered a side dish too — the assorted fried vegetables and shrimp came with shrimp, sweet pumpkin, onion, chili pepper, and king oyster mushroom, letting us try a variety of fried items at once.

Assorted fried shrimp and vegetables

The fried items looked clean and the outside was crispy, giving a nice crunch when you bit in. If you like fried foods, this would go well as a side with the rice bowl or udon. Between the cutlet and the assorted fried plate, our table was pretty much a fried food party that day.😋

Why Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu works with a baby

We visited Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu after taking Hani to Seongsan Ilchulbong. Traveling with a baby, you naturally end up checking not just the food but parking, atmosphere, and cleanliness too, and that day we were satisfied with how comfortably we could eat. In particular, using the Goseong Market parking lot meant it was a short walk to the restaurant, so pushing the stroller wasn't a burden.

Above all, the menu ranged from pork cutlet to pork rice bowl, udon, and assorted fried foods, so there was plenty of choice — good for families with kids as well as for adults dining together. If you're looking for a pork cutlet restaurant to visit with your child near Seongsan Ilchulbong, or you're craving crispy cutlet and a hearty rice bowl during your Jeju trip, Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu is worth a stop! Our family had a satisfying meal and headed back to our accommodation afterward.

And finally, if I had to pick just one couple PICK from that day? The minced pork rice bowl ⭐️⭐️⭐️. I think we'll order this again next time we visit.🤍
