Restaurant near IKEA Gijang, Busan: couples' tteokgalbi set for two

In short

Dongam Tteokgalbi is a Korean restaurant on the 3rd floor near Lotte Outlet Osiria and IKEA in Gijang, Busan. The writer ordered the Dongam Tteokgalbi Set and the Cheongyang Cream Tteokgalbi Set, piled on self-serve side dishes, and even got a Naver review-event fish dish, hot-pot rice, and crab doenjang stew. With a baby chair and group seating, it worked well for a family meal of all ages.

First photo from visiting Dongam Tteokgalbi in Osiria, Gijang

I went to Dongam Tteokgalbi, a handmade tteokgalbi (grilled meat patty) restaurant near Osiria Station and Lotte Outlet, famous for its food.

It's near Lotte Mall, Lotte World, and IKEA, so I stopped by after shopping.

Dongam Tteokgalbi is on the 3rd floor, so just take the elevator up haha. There's also a waiting area set up at the entrance.

There are a lot of old-fashioned decor pieces too.

There's a baby chair too.

The inside is clean, and there's group seating so it works for family gatherings or group meetups haha.

A menu board full of care — Dongam Tteokgalbi puts real effort into every smoky, fire-grilled tteokgalbi meal.

We ordered the Dongam Tteokgalbi Set and the Cheongyang Cream Tteokgalbi Set.

Pepsi Zero drink ordered alongside the meal

Gotta have a Pepsi Zero to drink too haha.

With the floor-to-ceiling windows, you can even see East Busan's Lotte Mall and Lotte World haha.

And here's your apron haha.

What's at the self-serve corner

The self-serve corner.

Steamed egg, gim (dried seaweed), jjajang (black bean sauce).

Tofu kimchi.

Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes).

There's also miyeokguk (seaweed soup) and barley rice haha.

Review event — the fish that's crispy outside but moist inside is a Naver review event service item haha. Everyone go leave a Naver review, go go haha.

The pottery here is nice too.

There are even 3 kinds of snacks haha, I'll have to try them after eating haha.

Nakji-bokkeum (stir-fried octopus) and tofu kimchi — this combo is irresistible haha.

Thickness and taste of the tteokgalbi

The tteokgalbi is pretty thick. It's not the kind that's so thin it's dry or falls apart the second you pick it up with chopsticks lol. It has a nice chew to it while staying moist inside. Isn't this a satisfying lunch spread? Honestly, this is a birthday table that's about to collapse from all the food lol.

There were lots of namul (seasoned vegetable) sides, and the cucumber salad was sweet and tangy and delicious.

Hot-pot rice comes out too, which is great haha. At Dongam Tteokgalbi in Gijang, they serve hot-pot rice — since it comes out this nicely, Dongam Tteokgalbi's rice is top-tier too lol.

Brought the miyeokguk over too lol, playing pretend birthday party haha.

Doenjang jjigae with crab

The doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) showed up with a bang, and whoa, they gave us a whole basin of it haha.

Savory with a bit of a kick, this doenjang jjigae will make you eat way more rice than you meant to lol.

There was a generous amount of stew, and it had crab in it too.

Tofu with stir-fried kimchi — this combo is no joke.

Rice on gim with nakji-bokkeum — kwaang, so good.

Had a bite of the salad too.

Gosari namul (fernbrake vegetable).

Stir-fried fish cake.

Miyeok julgi namul (seaweed stem vegetable).

Cabbage salad.

A piece of tteokgalbi dipped in sauce

The tteokgalbi is moist, and dipping it in the sauce, it's delicious haha. Take a bite with the hot-pot rice and it's kwaang, pure happiness haha.

How does the Cheongyang Cream Tteokgalbi taste?

The Cheongyang Cream Tteokgalbi has a generous topping of cheongyang chili, so my husband loved it lol. I tried it with the chili picked off — the cream tteokgalbi is delicious haha.

Good for a family meal?

The tteokgalbi was soft, moist, and tasty — a great place to eat out with your parents, and since kids can eat here too, it seems like a good spot for a family gathering.

Tteokgalbi set spread good for a family meal

When planning a family meal or gathering, you always wonder — is there a baby chair, is there a menu the kids will eat, will the adults be satisfied with the menu too — but this place seems to satisfy every age group haha.

For dessert, round crackers.
