Gwangmyeong pork galbi restaurant with basement parking: Sodam Galbi
In short
Sodam Galbi Gwangmyeong Soha Branch is a charcoal-grilled pork galbi restaurant on Ori-ro in Soha-dong, Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi. The writer parked in the restaurant's own basement lot and ordered handmade pork galbi (250g) for 16,000 won with doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), then helped themselves to the all-you-can-eat tteokbokki self-bar, farm-grown lettuce and honey sweet pumpkin side dish. Sodam Galbi is an easy Korean BBQ stop with no parking worries on the way back from Gwangmyeong Cave or IKEA.

Gwangmyeong has a famous cave — Gwangmyeong Cave!! I wanted to introduce a restaurant that's perfect to visit after going there. It's the pork galbi spot in Soha-dong, Sodam Galbi Gwangmyeong Soha Branch.

Where is Sodam Galbi Gwangmyeong Soha Branch?
Sodam Galbi is a pork galbi restaurant located in Soha-dong, Gwangmyeong. It's close to IKEA Gwangmyeong and Gwangmyeong Cave, so it's great to visit on the way. It's also very close to Chunghyeon Historical Park.

Parking near Gwangmyeong Cave: Sodam Galbi's dedicated basement lot
One reason I recommend Sodam Galbi!! It has its own parking lot. There aren't many restaurants with parking in Soha-dong, ugh. But here there's a dedicated basement lot, so it's convenient even if you drive. There's no barrier, so you don't need to register — you can just leave whenever.

Table seats with high partitions
Actually I've been to Sodam Galbi a few times. One reason I keep coming back is how clean the seating is..!! It's not a private room, but the partitions are high enough that you don't have to worry about other tables while eating. That's a bigger plus than you'd think, haha.

Sodam Galbi menu, prices and the weekday lunch special
The most important part — the menu. Sodam Galbi's signature dish is handmade marinated galbi. 250g per serving for ₩16,000, insanely good value. The galbi is boneless too, so there's a ton of meat, hahaha. If you come on a weekday lunch, you can get the galbi ssambap (wrap rice) set for the lunch special at ₩13,000. Amazing value. If it's weekday lunch, definitely order the lunch special.

You order via the QR code at each table. Scan it with your phone and the menu pops up. Order easily, and pay at the counter by giving your table number when you leave.

All-you-can-eat tteokbokki self-bar and side dishes
There's another reason I came back to Sodam Galbi. The self-bar here is really well done. They say the wrap vegetables like lettuce are grown on their own farm. Amazing..!! They give you plenty, but if you still need more, there's extra onion here too.

And the all-you-can-eat tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cakes) is legendary. It's sweet, tastes like old-school bunsik (Korean snack food) tteokbokki, and I kept eating it before the meat even arrived, lolol. Not pictured, but there are also two coffee machines, so you can have coffee after the meal too.

The side dishes are really varied too. There's bean sprout and green onion muchim (seasoned side dish) with lettuce, plus salad, mustard leaf kimchi and lotus root muchim, and even honey sweet pumpkin. It's a meat restaurant, but the side dishes are seriously generous. They're not too intense, like homemade side dishes, and they're delicious. I really love the honey sweet pumpkin here, it's insane. It's like they steamed sweet pumpkin perfectly and drizzled honey on top. I'd want to buy this separately if they sold it, hahahaha.

And their signature here is pickled onion — they give you a really generous amount of onion and sauce, lolol. You just take as much as you want. But I ended up eating all of it...

Charcoal-grilled pork galbi and doenjang jjigae on a weekday evening
I visited on a weekday early evening, so the meat came out really fast. Look how generous the portion is.

It's charcoal here too, so the heat is really strong. You know charcoal is the golden rule for pork galbi. Charcoal-grilled pork galbi is just too good..ღ
I also ordered doenjang jjigae, and it came out bubbling like a bomb. Amazing.

A truly no-frills, solid doenjang jjigae. Doenjang jjigae at a meat restaurant is always so good. Spicy and sharp, it cuts right through the greasiness.

Ah, I'm drooling just writing this — wrapping the charcoal-grilled meat in soft lettuce like this, how good could it possibly be~

I cleaned my plate completely.. Couldn't give up a single bite.
