Handmade burgers on Seongsu's Yeonmujang-gil

bd Burger Seongsu on Yeonmujang-gil has that distinctly hip Seongsu atmosphere, along with thick, delicious handmade burgers and fried eggplant. It is also a popular spot for a relaxed meal from lunch through dinner, and I really enjoyed both the house-made burgers and the distinctive sides.

bd Burger Seongsu is on the second floor, and it is close to the Seongsu-dong café street, so it is great for grabbing coffee or looking around the neighborhood after your meal. Such a nice place to visit as a date restaurant too :)

Inside the restaurant and how to order

On one side of the restaurant is a self-service bar where you can freely pick up whatever you need, from cutlery and straws to ketchup, napkins, and wet wipes. Drinks can be refilled once per person too! The restaurant was full when I visited, so I was a little sad that I could not properly capture the interior.. But, true to its reputation as a hot Seongsu restaurant, it had a casual atmosphere that felt comfortable for everything from solo dining to dates, and it looked great for lunch or dinner!

You order using the tablet at your table, then head to the counter to pick up your food when a pickup notice appears on the screen.

The Double Cheeseburger and Grilled Shrimp Avocado, two of bd Burger Seongsu's popular menu items, really were so deliciousss, just as you would expect from popular dishes..

Grilled Shrimp Avocado

It looks generous at a glance! The bun is packed without skimping, with plump shrimp, avocado, tomato, onion, and more.

With flame-grilled whole shrimp and avocado, this burger was lightly spicy yet light enough to enjoy without feeling weighed down. It was loaded with toppings, but the overall flavor was clean rather than heavy.

Take a big bite and the springy shrimp, soft mild avocado, fresh vegetables, and tomato come together so nicely. Every bite felt completely packed :)

Cheongyang Mayo Bulgogi Burger

This burger combines Cheongyang mayo, made with spicy Cheongyang chili peppers, and bulgogi sauce. It had a sweet-salty flavor and the rich meaty aroma of double patties.

The gentle peppery kick unique to the Cheongyang mayo and the tang of the pickles seemed to lighten a flavor that could otherwise feel heavy. With the double beef patties too, you can really taste the patties' deep savoriness and nuttiness.

From the crisp red onion to the sauce, patties, and pickles, the ingredients worked together in a sweet-salty burger with a gentle spicy kick!

The Double Cheeseburger's classic combination

The thick double cheese and patties made for a satisfyingly hefty look and flavor. I personally love cheeseburgers.. This one is classic, but that means you can really focus on the natural flavors of the patty and cheese. So good.

It is a classic combination of double cheese, patties, and the sweetness of grilled onion, but the flavor is full of richness.

If you love cheeseburgers.. I recommend it :)

Crispy, juicy fried eggplant

The fried eggplant was golden-brown and appetizing from the moment it arrived. It was crispy outside and juicy inside, with eggplant's mild, soft texture—properly crisp-outside, tender-inside stuff.. It is tasty on its own, but dipping it in the sriracha sauce served alongside adds a spicy flavor and really boosts the savoriness.

Butter garlic fries

Butter garlic fries that could not possibly look anything but delicious. The seasoned fries were topped generously with butter garlic, and the savory fries paired perfectly with the rich butter garlic's sweet-salty flavor!

The butter garlic sauce was rich and nutty without any sourness, and its garlicky savoriness really came through. So delicious.

For Seongsu dates and solo meals

If you are looking for a proper handmade burger or hamburger in Seongsu, I recommend bd Burger. It is especially easy to visit because it is near the Seongsu-dong café street, and it looks great for a Seongsu date, solo dining, lunch, or dinner. Each burger is generously filled, and the distinctive sides were just as satisfying—100% willing to return!
