Guro, Seoul bar for cotton candy bingsu and cheese potatoes: Eulji

Not just a bar — a place to play and leave! DJing, claw machines, dalgona, cotton candy — Eulji Pocha was seriously hot.

Hi everyone, this is Ttorothan Yeoreum. 😊 I guess I was the only one who didn't know about this Guro hotspot, haha. I went out for drinks with my grad school friends and stumbled onto a genuine hotspot in the middle of Guro — Eulji Pocha. Wow, the young crowd these days really knows how to have fun, and thanks to them I ended up having a blast too.

Between the variety of side dishes and the unique events you can join while drinking, plus the DJ, the time flew by. Let me show you how we ate and played at this Guro bar, Eulji Pocha!

Where Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch is, and what the bar feels like

Eulji Pocha is located in the Guro Digital Complex food alley.

It's close to Guro Digital Complex Station too, so it's easy to stop by right after work. Since it stays open late, it's also worth knowing about if you're doing a first-round, second-round, third-round night out in Guro.

Before you even step in, Eulji Pocha gives off that outdoor pojangmacha (street tent bar) vibe.

But once inside, the place was actually bigger than I expected. I thought there was only the front area, but there's a back hall too, so it looked like a good option for a big Guro bar group dinner.

We came as a group of grad school friends, all a bit past our prime haha, so we grabbed a table tucked in the corner.

But the moment we sat down, something caught my eye — a poster urgently recruiting people to quit their jobs. Wait, how did they know exactly how we felt, haha. We all laughed together about it for a while.

There were little fun touches like that all over the place, so just looking around the store was quietly entertaining.

What is on the menu at Eulji Pocha?

Eulji Pocha had quite a variety of side dishes.

From light bites to pick at, to hearty first-round dishes, there was plenty to choose from depending on how the night was going.

We came for a second round that night, so we kept our order simple.

But as we ate, I thought this would actually be a fun place to start from the very first round. There's a wide variety of side dishes, and more than that, it's not just about drinking — you can join in on events in between.

How does the coin system at Eulji Pocha work?

There's a coin system. You get coins based on the price tier of the side dishes you order, and ordering drinks gets you extra coins too. With these coins, you can join various events inside Eulji Pocha.

It felt like walking into an arcade that just happens to sell alcohol. And it's oddly effective at keeping you moving the whole night.

At first I thought, 'you just spin it, right?' — but it's actually harder than it looks to make it look pretty, haha.

Still, there's real fun in making it yourself, so I'd recommend trying it at least once.

And this cotton candy is great just eaten plain, but it's also super versatile. (I'll show you below.)

Dalgona, the Korean sugar candy (1 coin)

And the dalgona (honeycomb candy) that only takes one coin!

Making that nostalgic dalgona from childhood again, but this time in a bar, was oddly funny. No finished shot, haha, but the making process itself was fun.

Focusing on making dalgona also sobered me up a little.

It'd also be fun to go with friends and bet on who makes it better.

And then... the claw machine that pulled us into its swamp.

We seriously lost track of time on this. We got a cute Kitty keyring, which we gave away to an even cuter friend.

But why is a claw machine so much fun while drinking?

It really felt like being at an arcade that happens to sell alcohol. We thought, let's just try once since we have a coin — then we did it again... and got more coins, so did it again... and before we knew it, time had flown by.

Among Guro bars, one with this much to actually play with feels pretty unique.

And Eulji Pocha even has DJing. They take song requests and play music while you drink.

With surprise events and LED screen moments thrown in too, we genuinely lost track of time playing. If it had been a plain bar with just food and drinks, we wouldn't have stayed this long — but here, something is always happening, haha.

Now I get why the young crowd these days hangs out at places like this.

Oh right, I almost forgot to talk about the food. No matter how fun it is, the side dishes matter too, right?

Putting cotton candy on old-school red bean bingsu

It's still summer-night weather, so something cold sounded good, and we ordered the old-school red bean bingsu (shaved ice).

But listen — it goes perfectly with cotton candy. Make some cotton candy and put it on top of the bingsu. The sweet cotton candy meeting the red bean bingsu was a much better match than I expected.

We also tried putting cotton candy on soju. As it slowly melts, it gets subtly sweet, which was fun too. If you're already at Eulji Pocha, definitely try the cotton candy at least once.

Old-school king pork cutlet

If you like soju with pork cutlet — you have to come here!!! I love eating pork cutlet with soju, but honestly, not many bars do a proper, classic pork cutlet like this.

But Eulji Pocha's old-school pork cutlet hit exactly the vibe I like. Slice it up, take a bite, follow it with a shot of soju — and the downside is... the soju goes down way too smoothly.

If you're here for a Guro group dinner, ordering one of these to share seems like a great call.

Cheese seasoned potatoes

We finished up with the cheese seasoned potatoes!

This was perfect as a simple pick-at side dish. Good for popping a piece of potato in between bites of pork cutlet and sips of soju.

You really do need a side like this at a drinking table, haha. Good food, good vibe, fun events — what's not to like here?

Verdict: is Eulji Pocha good for a Guro group dinner or second round?

What struck me most that day at Eulji Pocha was that it's not just a place to drink — it's a place where you can play while you drink. With claw machines, dalgona, cotton candy, DJing, and LED screen events, a few hours genuinely fly by.

Between the soju with old-school pork cutlet, the bingsu topped with cotton candy, and the claw machine breaks in between... the only downside is that the soju goes down way too smoothly, hahahaha.

If you're looking for a genuinely fun hotspot bar in Guro instead of just an ordinary one, Eulji Pocha is worth a visit at least once. We had a really great time playing that day. Ate well, played well, heading out now 🍻
