Guro, Seoul bar for janchi guksu and ttongbanoban: Eulji Pocha

In short

Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch is a retro-style bar and restaurant on Kkalkkal Street near Exit 2 of Guro Digital Complex Station in Seoul. The order came to nearly 50,000 won: boneless spicy chicken feet in broth at 22,000 won with sukju (mung bean sprouts) and rice balls added for 4,000 won, ttongbanoban at 16,000 won and janchi guksu (banquet noodle soup) at 7,000 won, which earned enough coins to swap for old-school snacks and a watermelon ice cream bar at Eulji Stationery. The spicy chicken feet and mild noodle soup pairing makes Eulji Pocha a solid first stop for a night out in Guro.

Where is Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch, and what is it like inside?

Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch sits on Kkalkkal Street near Exit 2 of Guro Digital Complex Station! It's known as a go-to restaurant-bar in the area, apparently a favorite for company dinners among office workers in Guro. The food is high quality and reasonably priced, so it's a great spot for a first-round meal-and-drinks night rather than just a second-round bar. Good value and easy access meant that when I visited on a Friday night, the place was packed.

What can you spend the Eulji Pocha coins on?

Walking into Eulji Pocha immediately brings back old-school nostalgia with its retro interior — the space is huge and there are photo zones everywhere, fun to explore. Eulji Pocha also hands out coins 💰: one coin gets you cotton candy, dalgona (honeycomb candy), a claw machine try, or snacks from the in-store stationery shop, and two coins get you ice cream! We spent almost ₩50,000 on food alone, so we racked up a good number of coins and bought snacks at the stationery shop plus ice cream too,,😙

The full order at Eulji Pocha and what it cost

Once we sat down, staff brought macaroni snacks and set the table. There's a kiosk at every table for ordering, but there were so many food options I had decision paralysis..😌 We ordered boneless spicy chicken feet with added sukju and rice ball, janchi guksu, and ttongbanoban.

Boneless spicy chicken feet in broth: why the sukju and rice balls are worth 4,000 won

When we ordered the boneless spicy chicken feet, a cold bean sprout soup came out first. It was refreshing and delicious, though sadly it isn't refillable... The boneless spicy chicken feet had a spicy kick along with a deep, savory broth flavor that made it delicious. Since the feet are boneless, they were easy to eat, and the chewy texture paired well with the spicy sauce. There was a good amount of broth too, so dipping the chicken feet right into it made it even tastier.

Rice ball ordered alongside the chicken feet

We also added sukju, and the crunchy sprouts paired really well with the spicy chicken feet, good to mix in between bites. The sukju slightly cooled down the spiciness of the broth while adding extra texture, so personally I was glad we added it. And of course, no chicken feet meal is complete without rice balls, so we ordered those too. Taking a bite of the savory rice ball followed by the spicy broth chicken feet was a perfect combination. With the spicy, chewy chicken feet, crunchy sukju, and savory rice ball all together, it was a flavor that kept us reaching back for more😌

A bowl of janchi guksu with warm broth

Janchi guksu at 7,000 won: the noodle soup that tames the spice

The janchi guksu (banquet noodle soup) had warm, clean broth and soft noodles that blended together well, making it easy to eat without feeling heavy. The broth was light yet had a subtle savory depth, and the soft noodles slid down easily, pairing perfectly with the spicy chicken feet. Taking a sip of the janchi guksu broth after eating chicken feet felt like it cleanly reset the spice in my mouth. Especially alongside the spicy boneless chicken feet, the light janchi guksu tamed the heat in between bites, making for a great combination. Slurping down the hot broth with noodles was also quite filling, making it a great menu item to pair with the chicken feet!

Ttongbanoban, stir-fried gizzards and squid

What is ttongbanoban, the 16,000 won dish?

Ttongbanoban is a dish of gizzards and squid stir-fried together in sauce. The gizzards were chewy with a savory flavor that came out more the more you chewed, and the squid had a springy texture that made it fun to eat. Getting to taste two ingredients at once made it satisfying to pick and choose bites! Dipping it in the mayonnaise served alongside made it even tastier,,🤍

Nostalgic snacks chakani and jjondeugi bought with coins
Watermelon-shaped ice cream bar chosen as a palate cleanser

Trading coins for old-school snacks at Eulji Stationery

With our coins, we bought nostalgic snacks from the stationery shop — chakani, batdurang, and jjondeugi (Korean taffy). To finish, we grabbed a watermelon-shaped ice cream bar as a palate cleanser, which was just right. With its comfortable atmosphere, consistently good food quality, and menu that gets upgraded each season, I'd recommend Eulji Pocha Guro Digital Complex Branch to anyone in the Guro, Gasan, or Daerim area looking for a pocha-style drinking spot with character~👍😌
