Four-cut gopchang platter with liver and tripe sides in Guro: Gimga-ne
In short
Gimga-ne Gopchang Gui Daerim Station Main Branch is a grilled gopchang (beef intestine) restaurant on Dorim-ro in Guro, Seoul. The mixed gopchang for two came as four cuts — plain gopchang, daechang (large intestine), yeomtong (heart) and beolyang (tripe) — grilled with liver and tripe side dishes and finished with fried rice. Because each cut had its own texture, the meal never got heavy right down to the last bite.

I was craving gopchang (grilled beef intestine) near Daerim Station, and after looking around, I ended up at Gimga-ne Gopchang Gui Daerim Station Main Branch. Gopchang with a glass of soju sounded perfect, so while thinking over the menu I went with mixed gopchang so I could try a bit of everything. There are plenty of places to eat near Daerim Station, but that day I wasn't just looking for a meal — I wanted good food to go with drinks, and this gopchang place caught my eye right away.

Where is Gimga-ne Gopchang Gui Daerim Station Main Branch, and what is it like inside?
Gimga-ne Gopchang Gui Daerim Station Main Branch is in a good spot for meeting up near Daerim Station, so it's a solid pick when you're after dinner or a drinking spot. The exterior has that cozy, familiar feel typical of gopchang restaurants, and it caught my eye even just walking by.
The tables were spaced comfortably for a meal, and as befits a place where you grill gopchang right at the table, there was a warm, friendly vibe. It felt like a good spot for friends or couples to grab gopchang, and equally suited to a bigger group gathering.

What is on the menu at Gimga-ne Gopchang Gui?
Gimga-ne Gopchang Gui Daerim Station Main Branch has a range of gopchang menu items — plain gopchang, garlic gopchang, daechang, makchang, yeomtong, and more. If you want to try several cuts at once, you can order the mixed gopchang.
It's a combo that lets you enjoy plain gopchang, daechang, yeomtong, and makchang together, making it a great order for a first visit. When you can't decide between just gopchang or adding daechang too, ordering the mixed platter means you get to pick and choose according to your taste.

Are the liver and tripe side dishes worth trying?
Before the gopchang arrived, the side dishes came out too. They were good pairings for gopchang, cutting through the richness here and there as we ate.
The liver had a soft, clean flavor, good for picking at bite by bite while waiting for the gopchang to grill. The tripe had that distinctive crunchy texture, giving a completely different feel from the liver. While nibbling on the side dishes and waiting for the gopchang to cook, the main dish arrived before I knew it.

Mixed gopchang for two: plain gopchang, daechang, yeomtong and beolyang
We ordered the mixed gopchang for two. With several cuts all laid out on one pan, it looked delicious right from the start. The mixed gopchang came with plain gopchang, daechang, yeomtong, and beolyang, so it was much more enjoyable than sticking to just one cut.
Having several cuts on one pan made for a hearty-looking spread, and since each cut had a different texture, there was fun in picking through them one by one.

Watching the gopchang turn golden-brown on the grill, the savory smell drifting up made me want to dig in right away.

How each gopchang cut tastes and feels
- Plain gopchang: The gop (fat inside) gave it a rich, savory flavor, with the chewy texture typical of gopchang.
- Daechang: Noticeably more fatty and rich than the other cuts, great as a drinking snack.
- Yeomtong: Unlike gopchang or daechang, it had a clean, chewy texture, good to eat every so often between the other cuts.
- Beolyang: Had that distinctive crunchy, springy texture, giving it a different appeal from the other cuts.

Personally, I liked being able to try several cuts at once — plain gopchang, daechang, yeomtong, and beolyang. Eating gopchang alone can get a little rich after a while, but switching between cuts meant I could keep eating without getting tired of it, right to the end.

Finishing the meal with fried rice
After eating a good amount of gopchang, we ordered the fried rice you can't skip. It's fried right on the grill with all the savory bits left behind from the gopchang, so it made a perfect finishing dish. Since gopchang itself is rich and fatty, finishing with fried rice made the meal feel properly complete.

Stopping at just the gopchang would have felt a bit lacking, but adding the fried rice made for a satisfying finish.
If you're looking for a gopchang place near Daerim Station or searching for a good gopchang restaurant in Guro, I'd recommend going for the mixed gopchang plus fried rice for a filling meal. It's also a solid spot for gopchang lovers to visit for dinner with friends or a partner.
