Seasoned ribs and naengmyeon at a Gwangalli Korean BBQ, Myeongseung
In short
Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Gwangalli in Suyeong, Busan, that grills Jeju black pork. On a return visit three months later, the writer ordered two servings of Jeju black pork belly (15,000 won per serving) plus two servings of the seasoned ribs that were sold out last time, along with naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles), soybean stew and rice. Ordering both cuts was the right call at Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi: the pork belly goes with myeoljeot and bracken, while the seasoned ribs are made for rice and cold noodles.

A pork belly spot worth returning to near Gwangan-ri in Busan! Recommending Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi, a place I keep going back to for Jeju black pork at this price.

Back at this Gwangalli Korean BBQ after three months
Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi is a Jeju black pork restaurant on Suyeong-ro 594beon-gil in Suyeong, Busan, and this is my second visit — three months after the first. Three months ago, while looking for somewhere to eat meat around Gwangan-ri, I found a place I knew I'd come back to. I was already pretty satisfied on my first visit, and it naturally came to mind again when I went to see the Gwangan-ri drone show!! I always thought there were a lot of regulars, but the number of foreign customers has grown a lot too! We really are in an era where good food goes global by word of mouth ❤️

A place I keep going back to. When I pick a BBQ spot, taste matters but so does the price, the side dishes, the service, and how friendly the staff are — and here, everything is perfectly balanced ❤️

Especially the fact that you can get Jeju black pork belly for ₩15,000 a serving. Jeju black pork usually makes you brace for the price, so this feels like a real bargain!

Jeju black pork belly at 15,000 won a serving?
Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi is a place near Gwangan-ri where you can try Jeju black pork. What I liked most was that both price and quality were satisfying at once. I heard the owner is from Jeju and sources the meat through direct trade, which is probably why they can offer it at a relatively affordable price!

The Jeju black pork belly we ordered this time was ₩15,000 a serving. Given today's dining-out prices, and that this is black pork, that's a pretty solid deal. Whenever I find a place like this, my first thought is, "I hope this place sticks around for a long time."

What we ordered: 2 servings of pork belly plus 2 of seasoned ribs
We decided to go all out. Two servings of Jeju black pork belly, two servings of seasoned ribs, naengmyeon (cold noodles), soybean stew, plus rice. On our last visit, I wanted the seasoned ribs but they were sold out. "This time I'm definitely getting the ribs," haha.
How the Jeju black pork belly tastes
Putting the thick-sliced pork belly on the grill — even the sound of it sizzling gets your appetite going!
Take a bite of the nicely browned meat and the outside is properly crispy while the inside stays juicy, with that chewy skin texture unique to pork belly still intact.

The more you chew, the more savory juices come through, and dipping it lightly in myeoljeot deepens that distinctive Jeju pork flavor even more 😍 It's tasty on its own, but eating it with the side dishes is even better.

One bite with bracken and side dishes, another dipped in myeoljeot. It's the kind of flavor that keeps your chopsticks coming back ❤️

The seasoned ribs that were sold out last visit
And here's the other reason for this visit — the seasoned ribs. Last time they were sold out, but this time I finally got to have them. The seasoning is well soaked into the meat, and as it grills on the pan a sweet aroma rises up, which naturally makes you crave rice.

Grill a piece just right and you get that salty, subtly sweet seasoning flavor coming through, with the meat's own savoriness and the sauce blending well — great with rice. Personally, I felt the black pork belly and the seasoned ribs each had their own charm: the belly for the meat's own flavor, the ribs for eating with rice and naengmyeon. So I was glad we ordered both.

Seasoned ribs with naengmyeon: the combination to order
You can't skip the ribs-and-naengmyeon combo, right? Haha

We were already full after a bowl of rice, but there's no leaving without the naengmyeon haha. Eating it with the ribs makes it even tastier 😆

What comes with the meal at Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi?
The basic table spread at Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi is pretty generous too ❤️ Side dishes matter a surprising amount at a BBQ restaurant. A meal feels so much richer with a variety of banchan to pair with the meat, rather than just the meat showing up alone!

There were side dishes ready to pair well with the meat, and they felt fresh, so it was nice to try each one alongside the meat. Jeju black pork especially tastes so much better with myeoljeot, bracken, or kimchi than eaten alone. Whenever I got tired of one combination, switching to another side dish kept things interesting.

The owner's welcome at Myeongseung Jeju Saenggogi
(Written as part of a receipt review campaign) And here's another reason this is one of my go-to spots — the kindness. Great food matters, but if the staff or owner's attitude during the meal is off-putting, you lose all motivation to come back. Here, though, the atmosphere always felt comfortable every time I visited. I like service that takes care of what's needed naturally rather than being overly attentive, and I was even more surprised that they remembered me after three months haha. These small things end up making you think, "I need to come back again."

Verdict on this Gwangalli Korean BBQ restaurant
A place I was satisfied with from my very first visit, thinking "I'll definitely come back here." And I really did come back haha. The meat, the price, the side dishes, and the friendly service all added up to great overall satisfaction.
