The weather seems to be getting chilly lately. This time, I visited Italy Shabu Kalguksu Sejong Eojin Branch, located near the Government Complex in Eojin-dong, Sejong.
Location and visitor information for Italy Shabu Kalguksu near Sejong Government Complex
Since it is close to the Sejong Government Complex, it seemed like a spot many nearby office workers would visit at lunchtime.

The restaurant is on the third floor, and if you drive, you can use the building parking lot. The underground parking area looked fairly spacious, so it seemed easy to park!

Once inside the building, simply take the elevator up and you will find it right away. At first, seeing only the name, I wondered why it was called Italy when it was not an Italian restaurant, but apparently it was named after the owner’s daughter, haha.

A comfortable dining space with private rooms
The interior was neat and had a comfortable atmosphere for a meal. There are private rooms too, so it seems like a good place for group company dinners or get-togethers.

The tableware was also neatly arranged on the tables, so it felt well managed hygienically. Shabu-shabu is not exactly a quick meal, but it was nice to sit down without feeling rushed and eat slowly. It would work well for a company lunch or a family meal out!

Six-part shabu kalguksu, all the way to noodles and juk
The biggest feature of Italy Shabu Kalguksu is that when you order one shabu-shabu set, you can enjoy a whole meal course without adding this and that separately. Start with meat and vegetables, have dumplings and ongsimi (potato dough balls) along the way, boil the kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), and finish with juk (rice porridge)! At first, I thought ₩13,800 would be a light meal, but things just kept coming as we went on, hahaha. I was truly stuffed!!
I ordered the Italy six-part shabu kalguksu, ₩13,800.

For the broth, I chose the classic spicy option. The set includes beef neck, vegetables and mushrooms, handmade dumplings, and ongsimi. We ordered for two, and the pot was completely full~.

Kalguksu and juk too! There was more than enough without adding any side dishes.

The side dishes were salad, macaroni, and kimchi. Delicious kimchi alone is enough with kalguksu, but having a simple salad too made it even better.
Spicy broth and fresh geotjeori kimchi made daily
Clear broth is delicious with kalguksu too, of course, but nothing beats cooking it well in spicy broth... 👍 The more the meat and vegetables cooked, the richer the broth became, so it was especially delicious once the kalguksu went in. Cook it with the five-minute hourglass timer and it is just right.

And the thing I remembered most here was the kimchi. It was seriously delicious, so I kept reaching for it. I later learned that it is geotjeori (fresh kimchi) made in-house every morning—of course it was...!!

You can get refills at the salad bar, so feel free to bring back as much as you want without worrying about it. 👍

I did not skip the final course of fried rice—I ate it properly too.
I had the spicy broth, and its pleasantly spicy flavor kept me from getting tired of it right through to the end. Together with the reportedly daily-made kimchi, I was very satisfied. If you are looking for a hot, hearty meal around Eojin-dong or the Sejong Government Complex, give it a visit ერთხელ :)
