The vibe is clean and the floor-to-ceiling window view is so pretty it's perfect for a date, a wedding-invite gathering, or a nice meal with friends — that's why I went to Plate in Dunsan-dong :) Above all, I'd heard the homemade fresh pasta and handmade gnocchi were amazing, so I ran straight over!

Inside Plate Dunsan Branch: window seats and sofa tables

The sleek interior hits you the moment you walk in! Modern gray walls paired with luxurious mood lighting and arched details gave it a fine-dining feel.

The window seats especially were gorgeous, with a lush tree-lined street view through the huge windows. Great natural light too, so it's a total photo-op restaurant — you can get a life shot in one click!

Tables are spaced generously and the sofa seating is well set up, so it was comfortable for conversation.

Fresh or dried noodles? Ordering the set menu

Sitting down and looking over the menu, I noticed something unique to Plate: when you order pasta, you can choose either fresh or dried noodles.

Being able to enjoy fresh pasta at this price, made your way, felt like a place that nails both value and quality. We picked the signature menu items — truffle bacon cream gnocchi and steak cream ragù pasta — and went with the set menu to fully enjoy the pre-meal bread, soup, and salad too.

The pre-meal setting arrived first! Warm, freshly baked bushman-bread-style bread with a swipe of soft whipped cream was the perfect appetite starter. Nutty outside and moist inside — endlessly moreish.

The colorful, refreshing ricotta salad paired with tangy beet pickles was such a great combo.

Truffle bacon cream gnocchi, 15,900 won

Golden-browned potato gnocchi, thick smoked bacon, and shiitake mushrooms are all swimming in a rich truffle cream sauce. Biting into a piece of gnocchi, it was crisp outside and chewy inside, with that fluffy potato texture still coming through.

If you like gnocchi, this is a life-changing gnocchi — no way anyone dislikes it!

Steak cream ragù pasta with fresh noodles

Generously thick, tender slices of steak are piled on top, and underneath, a rich cream ragù sauce with finely minced meat and vegetables clings tightly to the noodles. We ordered it with fresh noodles, and they definitely held the sauce better than regular dried noodles, with a chewy yet soft texture the more you chewed — unmatched.

Wrapping the juicy steak, freshly sautéed scallions, and pasta noodles all in one bite bursts with layers of flavor.
