From tiramisu to rooftop at Selected Nicks, a large café near Gangnam Station. I passed by near the Gangnam Station Shinbundang Line again after a while — this is the place I fell for about a year ago after trying their pistachio tiramisu.

I wanted to review Selected Nicks, about a 5-minute walk from Gangnam Station Shinbundang Line Exit 3. It's a large multi-floor café near Gangnam Station specializing in tiramisu along with a range of desserts, so it's a great pick if you love tiramisu, want a spacious study café, or want to enjoy a rooftop building view near Gangnam Station.

Selected Nicks hours and parking: a Gangnam café open until midnight on weekdays

Selected Nicks is open from 8am to midnight on weekdays and from 11am to 11:30pm on weekends. It's near Daesung Academy at Gangnam Station, and since there are so many academies and offices nearby, lots of people come to work on laptops or hold study meetings. It's a great spot when you need a café near Gangnam Station at night!!

Note that it's closed during the upcoming Chuseok holiday, so check the schedule posted on Naver. The café's free parking lot only fits sedans up to a Genesis G80 (827-83 Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul), and it doesn't seem very large, so I'd recommend a nearby paid lot or visiting without a car.

It had been a while since my last visit, and walking into the 1st-floor ordering area, I saw the dessert lineup had gotten even more varied. Selected Nicks in Yeoksam serves soft-textured tiramisu made with an authentic Italian recipe using fresh eggs and cheese, plus their own signature twist.

These days people don't just eat dessert at cafés — they also package it nicely as gifts. There were plenty of options that felt easy to give, like tiramisu and cookies.

As I mentioned, Selected Nicks is a large Yeoksam café spread across basement 1 to floor 3, plus floor 8 and the rooftop. Rooftop, gallery, study zone — each floor has a different mood, which I love. Besides spots for coffee and dessert, there are seats good for laptop work or studying, so it seemed like a good place to spend quiet time near Gangnam Station.

Space rental is also available — there's a space that can hold 1 to 60 people for exhibitions, pop-ups, community events and more, worth keeping in mind.

The menu item that naturally caught my eye first was, of course, the variety of tiramisu. Classic ₩7,800 / Banana ₩7,800 / Choco Banana ₩7,800 / Pistachio ₩8,800 / Raspberry ₩9,800 / Strawberry ₩9,800 / Carrot ₩9,800 / Matcha ₩10,800 / Dubai Chewy ₩15,800, 3-flavor platter ₩14,800.

When I visited there was also a variety of madeleines and cookies. Drinks are varied too. Coffee starts at Espresso ₩5,500, Americano ₩6,000, Café Latte from ₩6,500, with cold brew, dolce latte, vanilla bean latte, Earl Grey latte and more. There are also non-coffee drinks, ades, vitamin drinks, and teas, plus decaf substitutions, so it was easy to order without worrying even if you're sensitive to caffeine.

I ordered classic tiramisu, a decaf iced americano, and a choco crunch madeleine.

I love the rooftop space at Selected Nicks, a Gangnam tiramisu spot. It's terrace-rooftop season right now, so on weekday evenings the seats fill up completely, and I saw plenty of foreign tourists too. The open space amid Gangnam's packed Teheran-ro cityscape is really nice.

How do the classic tiramisu and decaf iced americano taste?

I settled into a corner of the rooftop — a sip of the nutty decaf americano! And the classic tiramisu was soft-textured first and foremost, and less sweet than I expected, which I loved.

It had that distinctive soft, rich tiramisu flavor without being overly sweet or sickly, and pairing it with the decaf iced americano was a really good combo.

Choco crunch madeleine at Selected Nicks

The choco crunch madeleine delivers exactly the chocolate flavor its name promises. Pretty sweet — great for a sugar boost. If you love chocolate, it's a good one to pair with coffee.

With so many tiramisu varieties and decaf coffee available, it's a solid rooftop terrace café in Gangnam for anyone like me who wants to enjoy dessert and coffee without worrying about caffeine.
