What kind of buffet is Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch?

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is a sushi and seafood buffet on the 6th floor of 247 Nowon-ro, and to my family it's more than just a buffet. We held my baby's first-birthday party here, and ever since, we've come back whenever we have a family gathering.

We had the first birthday party here and it's the place that naturally comes to mind whenever there's a gathering, so visiting again after a while gave me a little flutter of excitement haha. This time we went during weekday dinner hours, just my mom, my baby, and me, and it felt a lot better than the last time we ate here — so let me share that honestly.

Is the seafood fresher than on earlier visits?

The seafood at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has gotten better than before. Honestly, on a previous visit the freshness felt a bit off and I was disappointed.

This time the seafood freshness was way better than before! The taste also felt clearly improved, and we kept saying to each other, "why did this place get so good?" lol

The raw fish on the sushi in particular was thicker and fresher than before, so I could break off small pieces for my baby without worry.

How was the service from the staff?

Plates cleared faster than before

The speed at which staff at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch cleared plates was clearly different from before. Previously the staff seemed to move at a more relaxed pace.

This time it was completely different. As soon as a plate was finished, they'd swoop in and clear it, almost like they were waiting for it.

They also refilled any dish that ran out right away, which made eating so~ much more comfortable.

Little details like this made me want to come back so much more.

Is Kuu Kuu Nowon okay with a baby?

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has a high chair and baby tray ready to go. The thing I worry about most when eating out with a baby is the chair and dishes for them.

Here, the high chair and baby tray were ready, so it was really easy to portion out food for my baby.

There's no separate baby spoon though, so I'd recommend bringing your own for this part.

There's also a separate baby play room toward the back of the restaurant. We were too busy eating this time haha so we didn't actually check it out.

Seeing that there's a baby play room, I could really feel that as a go-to spot for Nowon family gatherings, they think of guests with kids. Next visit I'll check out the play room and add it to the review~!

Favorite dish this visit: the galbi short ribs

Of everything we ate at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch this time, the one dish I remember most was definitely the galbi (grilled short ribs).

The galbi was truly tender and well-seasoned all the way through, it was so good! For my baby I cut it up small with scissors, and even for me as an adult, just biting it lightly with my teeth was enough for the meat to slide right off the bone — so tender and easy to chew.

My mom had some galbi too and kept complimenting how much better the meat quality was than before haha. It felt like the galbi alone would be worth the trip.

The one letdown: flat soda

If I had to pick one letdown at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, it would be the soda.

The soda had gone so flat it was basically just plain water with a faint hint of fizz...

If they just take care of this one thing, next time would be truly perfect ㅜㅠ
