Why I chose Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch

Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch is a hair salon in the Centras commercial building near Sangwangsimni Station, and this time I finally did the bleaching I'd wanted to do since last year. With so much shifting in my life lately, I felt this strong urge for an image change, and the first things that come to mind for that are usually cutting your hair dyeing your hair getting a perm and so on — so I decided to bleach it 🫡

While hunting for a bleach specialist I kept seeing this salon in the Centras commercial building near Sangwangsimni Station pop up in Instagram and blog reviews, so I booked immediately lol. Even without calling, the Naver Talk Talk replies were noticeably kind, and the in-person visit was on another level too — so even though this is a bit late because of a trip, here's my recommended bleach review 😋

Getting there from Sindang Station or Sangwangsimni Station

Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch is about 5 minutes from Exit 1 of Sangwangsimni Station or Exit 2 of Sindang Station. First time visiting the Centras commercial building

The floor map has a lot going on, but the spot I marked with an arrow = today's go-to bleach salon in Wangsimni, right as you walk in through that entrance above

1:1 hair consultation to match your face shape, head shape, hair texture, and desired image. At this point I still thought it was just marketing copy lol

Cut and bleach prices at Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch

Prices at Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch: basic cut ₩28,000 (men's), dye ₩150,000, design bleach x2 + dye x1 for ₩300,000. Even though it's a bit of a trek from my place, I came purely on the strength of designer Jihun's reviews lol, and even before I knew the prices, the price list was already laid out clearly

Honestly at this price point it feels perfectly reasonable and good value for an image change, and what surprised me was the self-check sheet, almost like something at a dermatology clinic, where you note down concerns, treatments you're interested in, and other points before the service — I could feel the attention to detail once we used it as the basis for the consultation 🤣

There's also a VIP membership — pay ₩300,000, 500,000, 1,000,000, or 2,000,000 and get about 10% more back, plus different discounts and events like cuts depending on the tier, so by the end I was seriously tempted by that too

Inside the salon: compact, clean and practical

Oreudeubi Sangwangsimni Station Branch has just what it needs, right where it needs to be — and the Line character goods are way too cute

There are about five seats, and with bright lighting the hair shows up clearly too — a place where you can really watch the whole process unfold

The massage chair in the shampoo room lol, wild.. I'd honestly been going to the same Juno Hair branch for years straight, so switching salons after so long felt like seeing everything with newborn eyes 👶👶👶👶

Coffee, tea, and various snacks are naturally offered as complimentary service

That feeling like you could pull off a whole image transformation in this relaxed atmosphere 🫣

An honest consultation before the bleach

Designer Jihun, who's got that idol vibe and looks a bit like Onew from SHINee

First off, Jihun is soooo meticulous. Based on the self-check sheet and the reference photos I brought, he really examined everything closely lol, and the consultation and style recommendations took about 15 minutes — nothing over the top, just that feeling of catching up with an old friend you haven't seen in a while

For about two months, between being busy at work and having a lot on my mind, I kept meaning to bleach my hair but just wore a hat and neglected it

I used to go every three weeks, but with so much else going on I couldn't get cuts in or take care of it, so it was genuinely a mess

Since I usually have a lot of hair, he did a light overall cut with texturizing shears to bring the texture back while keeping the length, and from the very first touch I could feel that hidden-master energy — after that I basically closed my eyes and let designer Jihun handle everything lol 😃

The cut itself was really light, and even though it doesn't come across in photos, you could just feel the care put into it — genuinely moving 🥰 right before

First round of bleaching

I bleached my hair about 15 years ago lol, and hadn't gone this far since — but here comes the bleach powder, along with neatly arranged scissors and combs, all so tidy that I got genuinely excited wondering how this would turn out...

First he sprayed a scalp-protecting mist densely everywhere — front, back, sides, every corner, really thoroughly — and it felt so refreshing

Now he divides my hair into sections and applies the bleach generously, no holding back. It's been a while since I've had bleach on my head so this part was genuinely nerve-wracking lolol

He covered my ears so bleach wouldn't get in, and originally put a face cover on me too, but since I needed to take photos lol and it kept slipping off from sweat, I took it off

I mentioned it was hot, so he cranked the AC up even more

It was a nerve-wracking process in a lot of ways, but the relaxed atmosphere with some icebreaker chat helped me ease into it bit by bit, and there was this cute little duck🦆 sitting next to us — what is that, some kind of spray bottle? — standing guard like a totem lol. Since the bleach is really strong, he keeps it a bit away from the scalp while applying it, and through it all designer Jihun never lost that easygoing smile, total pro

He leaves the roots close to the scalp for later and applies to the rest first, and what struck me while it was happening was just how thorough he was, section after section — like he was sculpting a plaster statue, not a single strand missed. Genuinely grateful for the effort...

And here it is — the first round of bleach fully and carefully applied to every strand, I really do look like a plaster statue lolololol. My head felt heavier somehow, and weirdly, some color was already coming through as he applied it, so it genuinely started to feel like turning into a Super Saiyan from Dragon Ball, haha

Since the eyebrows need to match the hair color roughly, he did those too, and then, absolutely buzzing with anticipation, I went to rinse — so what did round one look like?

Kind of like something with wheels that would burn rubber like crazy (reminds me a little of that gas station heist scene?)

That's the vibe round one came out with, and I honestly panicked seeing it lolololololol — but this isn't the final result, just one more round to strip it further lolololololol (by the way, the designer's skin is seriously flawless..)

Second bleach and toning in the massage-chair shampoo room

Okay, time for round two — and by this point it's already 3pm.. lolol. I arrived around 11:30, went through the consultation, dropped off my things and so on, so even if it actually started around noon, three hours had already gone by. Bleaching is way more grueling than I expected

I feel like I'll only do this once or twice in my whole life lolololol — celebrities are seriously impressive, sitting still all day is hard enough, but I imagine it's even harder on the people doing their hair

That massage chair I mentioned earlier was genuinely surprising — turns out it's not just a home thing anymore, salons have them too. After round one, once my hair was lightly rinsed, round two and the toning dye happened lying in the massage chair, which was a really great experience too

The massage intensity was so good and comfortable that I honestly fell asleep.. it felt so nice I wondered if I could just stay lying there forever, and thought how great it would be to have one at home! The whole salon smelled amazing too — I looked around and saw diffusers everywhere, San Nobel or something, anyway

Completely lost in the good scent the entire time I was being taken care of

My hair after 4 hours 30 minutes

Wow, after nearly four hours, I finally got the color I wanted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While drying my hair, I was genuinely giddy lolol, it was worth putting my head in designer Jihun's hands for four hours — truly touched by how much care went into it, and he even walked me through the basics all the way to advanced techniques, from how to dry it to how to grab sections of hair

He dried my hair partway with a hair dryer and then went straight into matte wax and gel, showing me the ratios so I could replicate it easily at home, teaching it all like a top-tier lecturer — genuinely

Why Oreudeubi is now my regular hair salon

It didn't feel like spending money on hair, it felt more like spending money on happiness, if that makes sense lolol. From just one bleaching session, genuinely

Somehow it brought out something I'd been dreaming of, something that felt missing before, and now it finally feels complete, like a finished mood lolololololol — I'm genuinely so happy, and the color came out exactly how I imagined

Even the seat I sat in for about 4.5 hours felt comfortable and I grew attached to it lolol, and that wall clock is so cute, and it really was pointing to 4:30pm.. lolol Thank you so much, designer, I found my hair of a lifetime, yay!!

Or de Vie apparently means something like "gold of life" or "gold of living" in French — just a heads up that designer Jihun is off Mondays and Tuesdays! It's close to Wangsimni, close to Sangwangsimni Station, and close to Sindang Station too, so if you're looking for a hair salon in Wangsimni or Sindang, especially one where you can bleach or dye your hair and switch up your mood in a relaxed atmosphere, I highly, highly, highly recommend it — genuinely (and honestly, I was more satisfied here than at the famous franchise salon in Gangnam I used to go to)

I flew to Japan right after bleaching my hair, and even Japanese people kept glancing over at it — even a Japanese friend I hadn't seen in ages was surprised and asked where I got it done lol. It somehow makes me look a bit younger, and even writing this blog post right now, I'm still completely satisfied haha

And drying and styling my hair the way he taught me, applying the products — I can't replicate it 100% exactly like he did, but I can pull off 90%+ lolol, totally doable!
