I've had business near Seonleung lately so I've been going there a lot, and while searching for restaurants I'd wanted to try, I finally made it to Manmok :) I was craving eel for a nourishing meal too! By the way, apparently the chef here is a Japan 3-star chef!! Maybe that's why it felt like a different league.

Corner seats for solo diners and a restroom inside Manmok

Manmok has a corner seat that's perfect for eating alone haha. That corner spot..😋 And I didn't get a photo of it, but the restroom is inside the restaurant too, which was great — not having to step outside makes a big difference haha.

The atmosphere is so upscale and clean🪄 Even though I visited well past lunchtime, people kept coming in! Proof enough that it's a great restaurant✌🏻

The restaurant was so clean and quiet, I liked it — seems like a great spot for office workers in Seonleung to come for lunch haha. The staff were all super, super kind too!

Manmok menu and prices: half eel bowl 26,000 won or full 39,000 won?

Here's the menu at Manmok in Seonleung :) I ordered the half serving, but next time I'm definitely getting the full one. Women might be fine with the half, but for men it's nowhere near enough. I eat a lot myself, so I regretted ordering the half ㅠ

• Half eel rice bowl: ₩26,000
• Full eel rice bowl: ₩39,000

Personally I'd recommend the full serving. Makes me want to come at night and knock back a beer with it ㅠ🥹🖤

There's also a dinner-only special eel nabe (hot pot) I want to try ㅠ

They even set up a coat hanger so you can hang up your jacket — nice touch, right?

How does Manmok's Kanto-style grilled eel rice bowl taste?

The eel rice bowl arrived. Office workers need to eat fast, and I liked that the food here comes out quickly!!! The eel smell hit the moment it arrived — incredible.

The staff kindly explained how to eat it! The salad has a sesame dressing that's nutty and delicious, and the soup has matsutake mushroom in it, so it feels really upscale and tastes great. By the way, Manmok's eel rice bowl is made by grilling the eel once, then steaming it, brushing on sauce, and grilling it again over charcoal! Maybe because of all that care, it's so much more delicious. Apparently this is called Kanto-style cooking :)

Now for the most important part — the main dish!! The eel rice bowl was so, so, so, so delicious it just melted away in my mouth. I finished it in under 10 minutes..? (It was so good I basically inhaled it ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ) The staff member was surprised I'd already finished ㅜ so I said it was so delicious I ate it fast..... but seriously, it was so good I just inhaled it;;

Oh, and they also give you shredded radish and white kimchi, which are really tasty too — great to eat alongside the main dish! But I especially loved the matsutake in the soup — a flavor I really love. You can add sancho pepper powder and wasabi to taste!

As soon as I ate this, I thought I wanted to feed it to my husband. Whenever I eat something delicious, he's the first person I think of — it was that kind of taste..😋🤍 You know what I mean, right?

Dessert ice cream at Manmok: oolong or green tea?

Once you finish eating at Manmok, they bring out dessert too! You can choose oolong or green tea flavor. The ice cream has an upscale flavor too..🫶🏻 It's so delicious, be sure to try it💕 Next time I need to go with someone and try the matcha for sure haha.

I'm definitely taking my husband here next time he comes to Seoul! When you want a nourishing meal, or want a special lunch or dinner, I recommend Manmok in Seonleung :) It really felt like receiving wonderful food and service haha.
