My wife and I went out near Seolleung Station on the weekend, and after eating a meal, something sweet started sounding good.

I was going to just get coffee, but the weather was nice, so I looked for a light dessert instead and we ended up going for gelato.

This time we visited Scoopy, which is near Seolleung Station.

I've always liked ice cream and gelato, so I found this place while looking for Gangnam dessert gelato. My wife likes gelato too, so it was a perfect place to go together.

Scoopy is located at 20 Seolleung-ro 72-gil, 1st Floor, Unit 103, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea. We visited on a weekend, and the atmosphere was more relaxed and easygoing than I expected for enjoying dessert.

There's seating inside the store as well as seats outside, so on a nice day, eating outdoors would be fine too.

We ordered gelato and sat for a bit to enjoy it at a relaxed pace. It felt like the kind of place to stop by when a heavy dessert after a meal feels like too much, but skipping dessert entirely also feels like a shame.

How many gelato flavors does Scoopy offer?

Walking into Scoopy, there were more flavors than I expected.

From basics like vanilla and chocolate to pistachio, Oreo and cream, and fruit flavors, there was so much variety that it took us a while to pick. Haha.

If a place only has one or two flavors, you just pick right away, but with this many options, it actually became more of a dilemma. What I really liked was that you can combine several flavors together.

Rather than each getting one flavor, we wanted to compare several, so we ordered the Triple Scoopy.

The flavors we chose this time were

• Pistachio
• Oreo and cream
• Fig cream cheese

— these three.

Since it was just my wife and me sharing, picking three flavors to split seemed better than each getting one. We each wanted different flavors, and ordering the Triple let us pick according to both our tastes.

I think gelato really is more fun when you try a little of several flavors rather than just picking one.

Pistachio, nutty and satisfying

The first one we tried was pistachio.

I usually like desserts with pistachio in them, so it was a natural pick this time too. Its signature nutty, smooth flavor came through nicely, and it was easy to eat without feeling too heavy.

Rather than being just strongly sweet, it had a nutty flavor alongside, and my wife and I both agreed it was good while eating it together. Of the three, it felt relatively light, which made it a good palate cleanser between the other flavors.

Sweet Oreo and cream

Second was Oreo and cream. You can pretty much guess the flavor just from the name, haha. It was sweet and creamy, giving that unmistakable dessert feeling.

Where pistachio leaned nutty, Oreo and cream was sweeter and richer, giving off a completely different vibe. There was also the distinct Oreo flavor, and the little crunchy bits mixed in were fun.

My wife really liked this flavor too, so we chatted about it as we ate.

Surprisingly likable fig cream cheese

Third was fig cream cheese. We'd already picked pistachio and Oreo and cream, and were debating what to get for the last flavor when fig cream cheese caught my eye. In the end, I was glad we picked it.

The sweetness of fig combined with the smooth, nutty feel of cream cheese, making it different from the other two flavors.

Alternating between the three flavors, each one had such a distinct character that we never got tired of it. Being able to eat three flavors at once really felt like the strength of the Triple Scoopy.

Why it's nice to go as a couple

If I'd gone alone, I probably would have just picked flavors I liked, but going with my wife meant we each got to pick a flavor we wanted, which was fun too.

I picked pistachio and my wife picked another flavor, mixing our preferences, and in the end the combination of three worked out pretty well.

Sharing spoonfuls and talking about which flavor was better was a small kind of fun too. These days, if you're looking for Gangnam dessert gelato for a light treat, picking several flavors like this seems like a good way to go.

It's not just a place to grab gelato quickly and leave — it was also nice to sit down for a while and rest. There are seats inside as well as outside, so on nice days, eating gelato outdoors would be a good option too.

On the day we visited, it was the weekend, so we sat and ate at a relaxed pace — a good way to have dessert time without spending too long after the meal. Stopping by after a meal or a walk near Seolleung Station when you're craving something cool sounds like a good idea too.
