Before heading home, my girlfriend and I stopped by Hets Jeonpo Branch, a Jeonpo Station tonkatsu spot, for dinner.

The sign was easy to spot, and the exterior with its big glass windows made a clean, polished impression.

Inside Hets Jeonpo Branch: black-and-silver long tables

The interior was done in black and silver tones overall, giving it a polished, clean feel, with straight bar-style tables that make it a nice spot for solo dining, friend gatherings, or dates in a small group.

There were also waiting seats set up inside, so if you're next in line you can sit comfortably while you wait.

Water and utensils were already set at our table, and on the table were whole pepper, salad dressing, truffle oil and wasabi so everyone could season their food to taste.

The service was nice too — if you had a song you wanted to hear, you could just jot it down on a notepad to request it, which was a fun touch.

Aprons hung between seats for anyone who needed one, and there was also a little corner with Hets branded goods that was fun to browse.

The restroom is inside the restaurant and is unisex.

The Jeju black pork loin katsu had a thin coating packed full of meat, crispy outside and juicy inside. You could really taste the rich, savory flavor of the meat itself, with juices that kept the flavor light and clean the more you chewed — a katsu that anyone would enjoy.

YBD assorted katsu (17,000 won): what is YBD pork?

The YBD assorted katsu comes with loin katsu and tenderloin katsu. Apparently YBD pork has rich juiciness and a distinctive texture, making it more preferred than regular loin.

The YBD loin katsu also had a thin coating packed with meat, with tender texture and just the right amount of juice, giving it a clean yet savory flavor.

The tenderloin katsu, true to its lean cut, was clean-tasting with tender meat that was easy to eat without feeling heavy.
