Raw beef set at an outdoor tent table in Jamsil: Hampyeong Yukhoe

In short

Hampyeong Yukhoe Bangi Main Branch is a yukhoe (raw beef) and raw-beef specialty restaurant in Bangi Meokja Alley, Songpa, Seoul. On a weekday evening at 7 pm, an outdoor tent table here came with Hampyeong Set 1 (yukhoe plus raw beef mungtigi, 75,000 won), eaten by alternating egg-yolk-mixed yukhoe with thick-cut mungtigi, plus a complimentary bibim guksu. Hampyeong Yukhoe is a fine choice for tasting both raw beef dishes at once over a drink.

Yukhoe and mungtigi table setting at Hampyeong Yukhoe Bangi Main Branch

Looking for the best yukhoe spot in Jamsil? Outdoor tent yukhoe is right here! I went for the yukhoe but ended up more into the mungtigi +_+!!

Today I'm bringing you a review of Hampyeong Yukhoe Main Branch in Bangi-dong, Jamsil! This time, instead of my usual go-tos like samgyeopsal or gopchang, I wanted something a bit different — yukhoe (raw beef) and raw beef slices — so I looked it up and decided to visit haha.

Hampyeong Yukhoe Main Branch is located on the 1st floor of 22-19 Olympic-ro 32-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul, in the Bangi Meokja Alley!!! You can even walk there from Jamsil Station, so it's a great spot for dinner after hanging out at Seokchon Lake or Lotte World Jamsil!

And... what's September for!? It's yajang (outdoor tent dining) season~~!! Yukhoe + mungtigi in the cool weather was love haha. I visited on a weekday evening, around 7 pm!! Let's start the Hampyeong Yukhoe Bangi review!!🙌

Where is Hampyeong Yukhoe Bangi Main Branch, and where can you park?

Hampyeong Yukhoe Main Branch sits inside Bangi Meokja Alley, on the 1st floor of 22-19 Olympic-ro 32-gil, Songpa-gu. There's no dedicated parking lot, so if you're driving, you'll need to use a paid lot nearby.

Since Bangi Meokja Alley tends to get crowded in the evenings, if you're coming by car I'd recommend checking the Songpa-gu Office parking lot first.

What are the outdoor tent tables like on a weekday evening?

Hampyeong Yukhoe Bangi Main Branch has outdoor tent seating, which was perfect for a cool September evening. When these breezy days arrive~~ yajang season arrives too~~ I visited on a weekday evening!!

This yajang atmosphere though... it's just the best pairing with yukhoe or raw beef!!

Both the outdoor and indoor areas were clean, and there were plenty of seats!!!

What comes in Hampyeong Set 1 for 75,000 won?

What I ordered that day was Hampyeong Set discount 1 — yukhoe + raw beef (mungtigi) for ₩75,000! Looking at the menu at first, I wanted both yukhoe and raw beef, which made it kind of a tough call haha.

If you're like me and want both, the set menu makes choosing so much easier. Since yukhoe and raw beef come together, you get to alternate between the two instead of eating just one thing the whole time — which was great. If you're torn between yukhoe and mungtigi!? I highly, highly recommend Hampyeong Set 1, which brings you both at once +_+!!

Yukhoe first: mixing in the egg yolk

When the dishes arrive, the yukhoe is naturally the first thing that catches your eye haha.

Unlike mungtigi, yukhoe comes seasoned, which makes it soft and nutty — great to eat that way.

Yukhoe topped with an egg yolk in the center

Since an egg yolk comes on top in the center, it's nice to try the yukhoe on its own first, then break the yolk and mix it in partway through.

Yukhoe mixed with the broken egg yolk

Once the yolk goes in, the nutty flavor of the yukhoe gets even richer, and the texture feels a bit softer too!

If you're a fan of yukhoe, this combo will definitely have you craving soju haha.

Mungtigi, the thick-cut raw beef that eats nothing like yukhoe

Raw beef mungtigi served together in the Hampyeong Set

And one of the main reasons I ordered the set that day was the raw beef — mungtigi.

Plate of thickly sliced mungtigi
Close-up of raw beef mungtigi

If yukhoe is a chewy dish you enjoy with seasoning, mungtigi is firmer, with more of a... how do I put it... springy chewiness?? haha. They might look similar but they're really different (I'm being serious).

A single piece of mungtigi picked up with chopsticks
Chewy-textured raw beef mungtigi

Picking up a piece to try, the thick, chewy texture is clearly different from yukhoe — if you like beef tartare-style slices or raw beef in general, this set is a total must-try!!!

Table with both yukhoe and mungtigi laid out together
Complimentary bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles)

And then the complimentary bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles)!!! The owner's cooking skills are seriously impressive ㅠㅠ I'd highly, highly recommend this dish too!!!

Why Hampyeong Yukhoe works for a night of drinks

Outdoor tent table with raw beef and a drink

Personally, Hampyeong Yukhoe felt less like a place you just grab a meal at and more like a spot to enjoy raw beef with a drink!!

Yukhoe enjoyed as a drinking snack with soju

Yukhoe and mungtigi pair so well with soju as drinking snacks, and with some more unique menu items like nakji tangtangi (chopped raw octopus) and sea urchin yukhoe, it also seemed like a great place to go with a group and order a few dishes to share >_<

So if you're in Jamsil looking for something other than the usual grilled meat, and want a great yukhoe and mungtigi spot instead, run — don't walk — to Hampyeong Yukhoe in Bangi Meokja Alley.

Who will enjoy Hampyeong Yukhoe Bangi Main Branch?

  • Anyone looking for the best yukhoe restaurant in Jamsil
  • Anyone wanting mungtigi and raw beef in Bangi-dong
  • Anyone who wants to try yukhoe and mungtigi at the same time
  • Anyone looking for a place to drink in Bangi Meokja Alley
  • Anyone deciding on dinner after a Jamsil date
  • Friends who want raw beef with soju together
  • Anyone looking for a weekday dinner spot in Bangi-dong

There are so many great restaurants in Bangi-dong, Jamsil, that I keep ending up at the usual samgyeopsal or gopchang spots — but every once in a while, a dinner with yukhoe and mungtigi over drinks is really nice haha. I especially like eating yukhoe and mungtigi together rather than picking just one, so the ₩75,000 Hampyeong Set 1 combo made choosing really easy this time!!

If you've felt like just yukhoe alone isn't quite enough in Jamsil or Bangi Meokja Alley, and you want to enjoy raw beef alongside it, give Hampyeong Yukhoe Main Branch a try +_+!!✨
