What kind of buffet is Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch?

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is a sushi buffet that takes up the whole 6th floor of a building at 247 Nowon-ro, Nowon-gu, Seoul. It's close to Hagye Station, so it's become our go-to spot for family gatherings in Nowon — whenever we come to Kuu Kuu with family, this is the branch we always pick!

The moment the elevator doors open, there's Kuu Kuu right in front of you — you've come to the right place, haha.

Booking Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch and how long you wait

First off, Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch takes same-day reservations. Even on weekdays, if you go just slightly outside true peak hours, it's much more relaxed! I booked the day before through Naver Reservation, and walk-in waiting seems possible too. It also looks like it's linked with Catch Table!

Toss FacePay discount and the free draft beer perk

Right at the entrance they let you in on a few discounts and tips. Pay with Toss FacePay and you get ₩5,000 off! The group ahead of us, friends dining together, seemed to be splitting the bill so each person got their own ₩5,000 off. Of course, you've got Toss FacePay too, right? Haha.

And free draft beer! At Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, if you leave a Naver photo review, you get one beer glass per person (per review ID). With that you can drink unlimited draft beer refills!!

What time should you arrive for weekday dinner?

I walked in at 5pm on a weekday. Right after break time ends and it switches from lunch to dinner, it's wide open and just wonderful! All the food is freshly out too, so ⭐️the tip is to go for dinner right at 5!⭐️

Being a sushi buffet, sashimi and sushi are the main event, but there's also a BBQ corner with crab, shrimp and oysters, and even the ice cream comes in ten flavors...

Here are the plates we piled up here and there, haha. I'll list all the recommended dishes below, but there were so many options I was genuinely happy.

We drank beer too! The two of us not driving each had a glass — Kelly and Terra 🍻 They must really maintain the tap well, because the beer had no flat taste at all, it was delicious!

Why is the flower crab meat so plump? So packed with meat I lost count of how many I ate...!

Dishes worth ordering at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch

Now for the real must-try recommendations!

Raw salmon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Other sashimi is pretty good too, but the raw salmon is the real deal... I ate like a bear catching salmon, haha.

Steamed flower crab and steamed shrimp both have little fishy taste and are easy to eat, meat packed in tight — it's autumn, their season, so eat them all up.

Kuu Kuu is famous for its ox knee bone soup (dogani-tang)...

Shrimp dim sum — both har gow and shumai are delicious!

Buffalo sticks — a taste everyone knows, but here it's unlimited refills >.<

Patbingsu (red bean shaved ice) — if you love shaved ice, you'll go crazy for it, pile on the fruit cocktail!!

Smoked duck — I didn't expect this, but the meat was seriously thick... First time I've seen a Kuu Kuu branch with smoked duck, and it's genuinely delicious.... Highly recommend.

Butter cheese corn — this one's for the picky-eater crowd, haha. The high schoolers at the table next to us ate at least five each by themselves, and I had three myself.. heh.

Kuu Kuu's scoop ice cream — milk chocolate is the truth, though I do love chocolate, haha.

You know this one, right? Dessert jelly comes in four flavors as shown in the right photo, but the two on the left are the truly delicious ones.

For sushi, the one thing everyone at our table picked was the amaebi (sweet shrimp) sushi!

There's also soy-marinated shrimp sushi mixed in — the rice portion is a bit big, which is a slight downside, but it's tasty, I ate about ten pieces, heh.

Citrus fruit salad — this one is so~ refreshing! Really delicious!
