Meat sushi plate and banana split at a Nowon sushi buffet: Kuu Kuu

This is my second visit to Kuu Kuu this year — today I went to the Nowon branch near Hagye Station! Earlier this year I visited the Gangdong Gold branch and was so satisfied because the menu was way more varied than I expected!! Today I'll share my review of Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, visited for weekday dinner. Let's go!

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch: location, hours and parking

📍 Location 6F, 247 Nowon-ro, Nowon-gu, Seoul By public transit: 10-minute walk from Hagye Station (Line 7), or 3 bus stops

🕖 Hours Mon–Fri (weekday) 11:00 - 21:30 (last order 20:00) Sat–Sun (weekend) 11:00 - 22:00 (last order 20:30)

Standard time limit is 2 hours, or 1.5 hours if there are people waiting.

Is there a wait at 7pm on a weekday? Book on Naver

I rushed straight over after work to Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch. Just past 7pm on a weekday, there were about 3-4 parties waiting. But since I made a Naver reservation beforehand, I got in right away. There were quite a lot of families there too — if you hate waiting, I highly recommend booking through Naver~~👍🏻

Inside Kuu Kuu Nowon: 300 pyeong of seating

The inside was way bigger than I expected. It's a spacious, comfortable space over 300 pyeong (about 990 square meters), and I especially liked that there were a lot of private, partitioned seats:)

Another feature here is the abundance of group seating. There are independent spaces you can use almost like a private rental for 50, 80, or up to 300 people. There's even a kids' café. No wonder so many families were here — it's because these facilities are so well set up haha.

A tour of the buffet stations at Kuu Kuu Nowon

First, the salad station! There were tons of salad types and side dishes.

Next is the roast menu! Lemon cream shrimp, kkanpung chili shrimp, mala shrimp — lots of fried options too. I especially loved the lemon cream shrimp. Recommend it!

There's also pizza and pasta, which I love, plus side fried items like french fries and kimmari (seaweed noodle rolls):)

BBQ station: all-day lamb chops and smoked duck

This is the BBQ section, and it was packed with mouthwatering options..✨ The lamb chops were especially the tastiest!!! They refilled them as fast as they went out, so I could eat them warm, and they were so tender. (Lamb chops are available all day)

They'd also newly launched smoked duck, and the chewy texture was so good:) (Smoked duck is a weekday-dinner and weekend/holiday menu item, apparently~~)

Meat sushi vs sashimi sushi: two very different plates

Next up, Kuu Kuu's core menu🍽️: sushi.

I can't eat raw seafood ㅠㅠ, so I went straight for the meat-topped sushi. Yukhoe (seasoned raw beef) sushi, beef brisket sushi, Gwangyang sirloin sushi, tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patty) sushi, bacon sushi — so many meat options that I was so happy.

My boyfriend, on the other hand, totally loves sashimi, so he piled his plate with mostly salmon, tuna, and flounder. There were sushi options with different cuts of fish too — tuna belly? Or was it flounder fin? — anyway, he eagerly grabbed whatever the tasty cut was. They said they'd upgraded the fish size so each bite of flounder and salmon fills your mouth more than before.

So here are the plates we brought back haha. The one loaded with sashimi is my boyfriend's, and the one with just meat is mine hahaha. A pretty clear difference.

Oh, and the drinks were really varied too, but what stood out was the unlimited draft beer! There are two kinds, Terra and Kelly, priced at ₩5,900 — but it's free if you leave a Naver review:)

Round two plate🐷 that followed — we went back for more of what we liked plus some new items. Haha, felt like we were going to burst, but dessert is a separate stomach.

This here is the marble ice cream & scoop ice cream station. (Marble ice cream is also available at lunch!!)

Looking at the photos, I really ate a ton ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ because that melon was seriously so, so good,,ㅠㅠㅠ. Once I tried it I knew this was the one, so I piled up a huge amount and ate it all. Didn't leave a scrap haha. I'd expected mango to win but — melon, hands down.

Banana split (marble)+ double chocolate (scoop) + espresso. My last recommended dessert combo..!! If melon was the fruit MVP, this is how you should eat the ice cream. So good.

Is Kuu Kuu Nowon good for a family gathering?

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has such a varied menu that I think it could satisfy everyone's needs if you came with family! Especially with marble ice cream for dessert, which kids love, it's an even bigger recommend:) Had a great meal, signing off 🐷👍🏻
