Guui Station Korean BBQ lunch with curry powder dip: Ssamchae
In short
Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal (쌈채솥뚜껑삼겹살) is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Gwangjin, Seoul, on the ground floor of the Jayang Hisvill Ver apartment shops between Guui Station and Jamsil Bridge. At lunch the iron-lid half-set costs 57,000 won and brings one serving each of pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl and pork skin, plus free unlimited wrap greens and 24 self-serve side dishes. The curry powder sauce is the kick that makes the meat here, and the half-set is just right for two people to eat their fill.

Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal, a Korean BBQ spot near Guui Station. They received meat from a livestock specialist company, so you get premium-grade beef and pork, and this place has its own special sauce that pairs with it... it's unbelievable...! Plus you can eat the all-you-can-eat wrap greens for free. There were tons of wrap greens and side dishes too. Here's my very satisfied review of Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal, a healthy meal with great value for money 👏🏻

Where is Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal near Guui Station?

Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal sits on the first floor of an apartment complex's shopping strip, between Guui Station and Jamsil Bridge. I was craving samgyeopsal (pork belly) today, so I came for meat at lunchtime haha! The storefront sign for the lunch special, minari (water dropwort) shabu kalguksu (noodle soup), almost tempted me, but I held firm and went in.
✔️ It was easy to find once I located Jayang Haneulchae Vert Apartment, Building 102.
Inside Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal: room for group dinners

The interior. Right as you walk in, you see the self-serve zone for wrap greens and sides, with tables on either side. There's another space of the same size next door, so the place is quite spacious (big enough for group dinners), but they split the large space in half, which actually made it feel cozy.

Overall it felt very hygienically maintained and clean, which I loved!
- ✔️ There's plenty of storage space under the chairs for bags
- ✔️ Ordering via the table kiosk was convenient
Free unlimited wrap greens and 24 self-serve side dishes

The self-serve zone at Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal has a total of 24 wrap greens and side dishes ready to go 👏🏻 Lettuce, napa cabbage, and perilla leaves alone would be plenty, but there are 5 more types of wrap greens beyond that, plus grillable items like sweet pumpkin, eggplant, and mushrooms, and a variety of kimchi like ggodeulppagi (bitter lettuce root), buchu kimchi (chive kimchi), and gat kimchi (mustard leaf kimchi).

The basic side dishes are already set out, so you only need to help yourself to anything extra.

The wrap greens aren't pre-set, so you grab whatever you like. Being able to eat this unlimited...🤍 I thought it was the best value for money.
The 57,000-won iron-lid half-set: a lunch for two

We ordered the iron-lid half-set for ₩57,000. It includes pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl, and pork skin, one serving each, plus free all-you-can-eat wrap greens.
- ✔️ Being able to choose between the iron lid and charcoal grill was a nice touch
- ✔️ The iron-lid half-set menu mixes one serving of each of the 4 cuts so you get variety, and it was just right for two people to eat until full

They rubbed fat all over the iron lid to grease it up, then put on the pork belly and pork neck first. ✔️ Staff grill all the meat for you.

Since the meat comes from a livestock specialist company, it was chewy like it had been aged, and the quality was really-really good.

The pork belly and pork neck were genuinely tender and delicious the moment you bit in. The kind of taste that makes your eyes go wide 🤍

Curry powder sauce, the kick at this Gwangjin Korean BBQ
What makes Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal special is also its sauce, and it's... curry powder!! It's genuinely the kick. It pairs unbelievably well.

With multiple types of side dishes and wrap greens, you can mix and match all kinds of combinations too

We also grilled up the vegetables meant for grilling~ it was a genuinely filling meal 🤍

Pork jowl and pork skin on the iron lid
The pork jowl quality was great too...! I loved the distinctive chewy texture of the jowl

The pork skin was plump and really soft! Their pork skin is delicious too...🤤

Wild garlic leaf + pork jowl dipped in curry powder + pork skin dipped in soybean powder = paradise 🪽

The mul naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) went down smooth — the noodle portion was small, but the broth was ice-cold and delicious.
Is Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal worth it? Final verdict

- ✔️ High-quality meat
If you're looking for a great Korean BBQ restaurant near Guui Station, I recommend visiting Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal for a meal that's both healthy and delicious!
