Roastery café in Gwangjin, Seoul: flat white vs latte, Center Coffee

The café I'm introducing this time is Center Coffee, located at Guui East Pole. It had everything — a spacious, comfortable setting, sophisticated coffee, and sweet desserts too. Since it's inside a complex cultural facility connected to Guui Station, I could enjoy my coffee quietly in a relaxed atmosphere. It's also great for families, and parking was convenient too.

Center Coffee Guui East Pole is on the basement floor (B1) at 402 Achasan-ro, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, open from 10am to 10pm. It's right there as soon as you step off the escalator.

Since it's connected to Guui Station, it's easy to get to by subway too. I was surprised a complex facility like this had gone up at Guui Station — when did this happen without me knowing? Haha. I think it's nice to hang out around Guui Station now instead of the more crowded Konkuk University area. It's great for shopping, eating, and coffee. Center Coffee, a Gwangjin-gu coffee spot — I'd recommend it for a date!

Inside the spacious B1 floor: group tables to two-seaters

Center Coffee Guui East Pole has plenty of tables, from group seating down to tables for two. The heavy wood-toned chairs looked stylish. I was startled trying to move one — haha — it was so heavy.

It seems like a great spot to stop and rest while shopping! The openness makes it feel airy, not cramped at all. Lots of groups of friends were chatting together too.

What desserts does Center Coffee have? Tiramisu, cheesecake, pavlova

Center Coffee Guui East Pole also sells sweet desserts. I had tiramisu for the first time in a while. It looked genuinely delicious — the moment I saw it I said, 'I'm having tiramisu!' Haha. The rich-looking cheesecake looked good too.

There's mango cake and pavlova too! They've even got upscale dessert options ready. Since it's a roastery coffee shop, the coffee was really delicious as well. I'd recommend pairing coffee with dessert.

Their Chuseok holiday package looked really pretty too. What's everyone doing for Chuseok? Time really does fly. Chuseok already, wow,,!

Café latte vs flat white at Center Coffee: which one is richer?

Since Center Coffee is a roastery café, they also sell a variety of coffee beans. Being a roastery café, they seem genuinely serious about their beans — and the coffee was really delicious for it! Both the café latte and the flat white were great. Nutty and rich, exactly to my taste.

It's a comfortable atmosphere for coming alone to work on a laptop too.

It was nice being able to catch the coffee's aroma. A nutty coffee smell drifting through the air — these days I feel like I can't function without coffee.

Ordering through the kiosk was easy! The staff were kind too, and maybe because it was a weekday, there weren't many customers, so I read a book, drank coffee, and chatted quietly in a peaceful atmosphere before heading out.

I've been really into flat whites lately. Rich coffee beans meeting nutty milk — how could that not be delicious. I think a flat white much richer than a latte suits my taste better. The portion is a bit small, but that's the price for the flavor, haha.

My sister, our resident coffee connoisseur, praised it too, haha. The coffee at Center Coffee is genuinely delicious. Other menu items are great too, but you have to try the coffee.

How did the Center Coffee tiramisu taste?

Ta-da — the tiramisu arrived too. The tiramisu at Center Coffee Guui East Pole is incredibly moist. It melts in your mouth, and the flavor is rich and soft too.

The soaked ladyfingers held coffee that was really rich. It's a dessert where the coffee's bitter depth blends with the soft, sweet mascarpone cream. Highly, highly recommend.

Just looking at it made my mouth water. Especially if you like coffee-flavored desserts, I think this one would be really satisfying — a tiramisu cake where you can enjoy the deep coffee aroma together with sweet cream.

The mascarpone cream was soft and nutty, melting in the mouth, which paired really well with the coffee flavor. It wasn't overly sweet or artificial-tasting, which I liked. The bitterness of the cocoa powder dusted on top added to it too, giving a good overall balance of sweet and bitter, and the soft texture made it easy to eat without feeling heavy.

Coffee plus coffee flavor, I guess, haha. Maybe that's why I felt properly wired afterward. It's been a while since I had tiramisu with coffee, and this combo was a success as always.

This was my first time at Center Coffee and it's genuinely a great spot for coffee. Not just the coffee but the tiramisu dessert too, absolutely perfect,, It's been a while since I went out on a weekday like this, and the atmosphere was so nice and the coziness of the space let me get through a whole book :)
