Jeju Andeok pork BBQ for two: white pork neck, maeljeot, ₩65,000
In short
Heukdonsibaekdonmyeon Shinhwa World Branch is a briquette-grilled geungogi (thick-cut pork) restaurant in Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo on Jeju, a 7–10 minute drive from Jeju Shinhwa World. Two people ordered 600g of white pork geungogi for 57,000 won and dangmyeon-oi-muchim (glass noodle and cucumber salad) for 8,000 won, spending 65,000 won in total; the neck meat was tender rather than dry, and the maeljeot (fermented anchovy dipping sauce) was not too fishy. Staff grill the meat for you, and the cucumber noodle salad ordered on a whim turned out to be the best match with the pork and lettuce wraps.

When you travel to Jeju, no matter how much good food you eat, there's one thing you absolutely have to try — Jeju pork! 🐷🥩 This time, while looking for dinner near Jeju Shinhwa World, I ended up at Heukdonsibaekdonmyeon Shinhwa World Branch.

It's a short drive from Shinhwa World and it's a place where you can eat Jeju-style thick-cut pork (geungogi), so I picked it for dinner. That day we ordered 600g of white pork geungogi for ₩57,000 plus dangmyeon-oi-muchim (glass noodle and cucumber salad) for ₩8,000! We ended up enjoying it way more than expected. 😋

Of all the meat we ate that day, the neck (mokssal) was especially tender and memorable, and surprisingly the side dish I liked best of all was the cucumber noodle salad! It felt like I went for the meat and fell for the side dish instead, haha. So let me walk you through everything — location, parking, hours, and menu, based on what I actually experienced. 💕
Where is Heukdonsibaekdonmyeon Shinhwa World Branch? A 7–10 minute drive from Shinhwa World
Heukdonsibaekdonmyeon Shinhwa World Branch is located at 1769 Jungsangan-seoro, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do. It's about a 7–10 minute drive from Jeju Shinhwa World. Looking through recent visitor reviews, that same 7–10 minute figure keeps coming up, so I'd say it's a solid distance for a dinner trip if you're staying at Shinhwa World.
They also advertise pickup and drop-off service around the Shinhwa World area. That's pretty useful if you want to have a drink or two with your Jeju pork. 🍺 That said, the exact coverage and hours for pickup/drop-off may vary, so I'd recommend calling the restaurant ahead of time to check.
Is there parking in front of the restaurant?
There's free parking right in front of Heukdonsibaekdonmyeon Shinhwa World Branch, which made it easy to visit by car. 🚗 When you're restaurant-hopping around Jeju, parking can be a surprisingly stressful part of the trip, but recent reviews confirm free parking is available right out front.
That said, the number of available spots is reported differently across reviews — anywhere from 3–5 to 7–8 spaces — so it's better to think of it as street-side parking in front of the restaurant rather than a large dedicated lot.
Opening hours: check on the day you visit
Online listings show slightly different hours, so I'd recommend double-checking on the day you plan to visit. Based on recent reviews, the hours are 15:30–22:30, with last order at 21:10, and the restaurant is closed every Tuesday.
On the other hand, some other listings show the restaurant opening as early as 11:30, so if you're planning a lunch visit especially, calling ahead is the safest bet.
What two people ordered and what it cost — 65,000 won total
That day we ordered 600g of white pork geungogi for ₩57,000 and dangmyeon-oi-muchim for ₩8,000. 😊 A total of ₩65,000!

For two people eating meat plus a side dish, I thought the portion was more than enough. Current menu listings also show 600g white pork geungogi at ₩57,000 and dangmyeon-oi-muchim at ₩8,000.
600g of white pork geungogi arrives: thick-cut Jeju BBQ style
Finally, the meat we ordered arrived. 🤤

As you can see in the photo, this isn't thinly sliced meat — it's cut thick and chunky, true geungogi style. If you're eating pork in Jeju, this kind of thick cut grilled over charcoal is exactly the kind of treat you want. 🔥 We put the meat on the grill and started eating, and the smell of it cooking alone got my appetite going.
One thing I really liked was that we didn't have to worry much about the grilling process ourselves!

From what I've seen in recent reviews, the staff or owner here pre-grills or fully grills the meat so guests can eat comfortably. At a lot of BBQ restaurants you end up so busy flipping, cutting, and checking for burning that you can barely have a conversation — here, it was much more relaxed. 😊
The best cut of the night: pork neck (mokssal)
The cut I personally enjoyed the most at Heukdonsibaekdonmyeon Shinhwa World Branch that day was the neck!

Honestly, neck meat can end up a bit dry if it's not grilled well. But the neck we had that day was surprisingly tender and juicy — really good.
Oh? This neck is really good!
I remember saying that after one bite, haha. Other recent reviews also mention the neck being tender and juicy, so if you like neck meat, this is worth keeping in mind. Personally, out of all the meat that day, the neck is what I kept reaching for. 🥩💕
Jeju geungogi grilled over briquette fire
Notice the soft glow underneath the meat in the photo? This restaurant is known for pre-grilling the meat over charcoal. Recent reviews mention that after the charcoal pre-grill, the meat is moved onto another grill plate or elvan stone to keep it warm while you eat.

That gave the meat a distinct smoky, savory aroma as it cooked, and it really felt like a proper Jeju BBQ experience. 🔥

The side dish worth ordering: dangmyeon-oi-muchim for 8,000 won
Guys... you really have to try this!! 😂❤️

Honestly, I didn't have high expectations when I ordered the dangmyeon-oi-muchim. I just ordered it to have alongside the meat, but once it arrived and I tasted it, it was way better than I expected. In the photo, you can see cucumber, onion, and chili all coated in seasoning, with a generous pile of flat glass noodles in the middle. Sesame seeds sprinkled on top made it look even more appetizing. 🤤
The perfect bite: pork, glass noodle cucumber salad and a lettuce wrap
My top recommendation is this combo: a piece of meat 🥩 + dangmyeon-oi-muchim 🥗 + lettuce wrap 🌿!

The savory, juicy meat paired really well with the tangy-spicy flavor and crunchy texture of the cucumber noodle salad. The owner explained that it's meant to be eaten with the meat almost like bibim-naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles), and after trying it, I totally got what they meant. Every so often, eating a bit of the noodle salad between bites of meat cleaned my palate and made me want more meat right after — I couldn't stop reaching for it. 😂

The scallion salad played its part too, haha!!
Even a friend who dislikes muchim salads liked this one
What made it even funnier was that my friend, who usually doesn't care for muchim (seasoned salad) dishes, said this one was delicious and kept eating it, haha. That's part of why it stuck with me.
I usually just stick to scallion salad or kimchi at BBQ restaurants, but that day I kept picking at the dangmyeon-oi-muchim. Other reviews also recommend it as a great appetite-boosting side, so it seems we weren't the only ones who loved it. If you're going for meat, definitely order the dangmyeon-oi-muchim! 🙌
Heukdonsibaekdonmyeon Shinhwa World Branch menu: meat and noodle dishes
We only ordered the white pork geungogi and the cucumber noodle salad, but looking at the menu, there are plenty of meal options beyond just meat.

- 🥩 Meat: Black pork geungogi 600g ₩66,000 / White pork geungogi 600g ₩57,000 / Raw galbi 300g ₩30,000 / additional meat options also available
- 🍜 Meals: Black pork stew, kimchi stew, doenjang stew, mulmemil makguksu, bibim memil makguksu, dangmyeon-oi-muchim, jjukkumi seafood ramen, steamed egg, cheese steamed egg, rice
Recently posted menu info also lists black pork geungogi 600g at ₩66,000, raw galbi 300g at ₩30,000, mulmemil makguksu at ₩8,000, bibim memil makguksu at ₩9,000, and jjukkumi seafood ramen at ₩12,900. The menu is more varied than I expected, so next time I'd love to try the black pork stew or the jjukkumi seafood ramen. 😋
White pork or black pork at Heukdonsibaekdonmyeon? Plus the maeljeot
We ordered white pork that day, but if you're the type who says you have to eat black pork once you're in Jeju, that's of course available too. Current pricing shows black pork geungogi 600g at ₩66,000. If you're torn between white and black pork, it could be fun to order one of each with your group and compare. 🐷

The maeljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) had just the right amount of fishy flavor — truly just the right amount!! That balance is actually really hard to get right!!!! I asked the owner if there was a difference between the two, and they said if you're not particularly sensitive to it, you probably won't notice much difference, so we went with the slightly cheaper white pork, haha.
Is Heukdonsibaekdonmyeon good for a family trip to Jeju?
A lot of families travel to the Shinhwa World area. Recent business listings for this place show baby chairs, a kids' menu, group seating, parking, wifi, and a kiosk, making it a reasonable choice for a family visit.
They also list pet-friendly access, though there are conditions like using a cage or pet stroller, so if you're planning to bring your dog, it's best to inquire ahead.
Staying at Shinhwa World? Ask about pickup and drop-off
This is good to know if you're staying at Shinhwa World. Pickup and drop-off service is listed as available for Shinhwa World and nearby areas. If you want to have a drink with your Jeju pork but are worried about driving, call ahead to check availability. 😊 Having a shot of soju with Jeju pork in the evening really makes the trip feel complete... 🍶 haha.
Honest review: two things I remember about this Andeok pork BBQ
Two things stood out to me most after eating at Heukdonsibaekdonmyeon Shinhwa World Branch.
🥇 First, the neck meat! It was way more tender than I expected — not dry at all, with plenty of juice, and it was the cut I enjoyed most that day. 🥩
🥈 Second, the dangmyeon-oi-muchim! The tangy-spicy seasoning, the crunch of the cucumber, and the chewy texture of the glass noodles paired really well with the meat. Even people like me who don't usually seek out muchim-style dishes might change their mind after trying it with the meat. 😊

Where to eat pork BBQ near Jeju Shinhwa World
Heukdonsibaekdonmyeon Shinhwa World Branch was one of the places we ate at on this Jeju trip! The meat itself was delicious, but personally what stuck with me most was thinking, "the neck meat is so tender!" 🥩 and "what is this cucumber noodle salad, why is it so good?" 😂
In particular, I ordered the dangmyeon-oi-muchim without much expectation at first, but eating it together with the meat felt completely different, so I'd order it again next time. If you're staying at Jeju Shinhwa World and looking for somewhere nearby to eat pork, this could be worth checking out. 😊 Next time I visit, I'd like to try the black pork geungogi paired with the dangmyeon-oi-muchim. 🐷💕
