Even before going inside, I spotted the outdoor seating already, and thanks to the interior behind it, there's a cozy, quiet vibe that felt really nice 👍 The front isn't fully open, but you can still catch a nice breeze, and honestly, I'd love to sit there even in the cold of winter. Walking in, the scale was way bigger than I expected — a space that can hold up to 100 people, so it works well for everything from a small dinner for four to a big group dinner 👍 What I also liked was that each seating area has a slightly different vibe.

On one side, there was a seating area set up like this, decorated with signatures from various celebrities. I guess that says something about how popular this place is?

There's regular indoor table seating, plus an outdoor area with a yajang (semi-outdoor tented seating) feel where you can enjoy grilled meat outside, so you can choose based on the mood of your gathering. Overall the place is spacious and comfortable, so it doesn't feel cramped even with a big group.

So when it comes to finding a company dinner spot, group gathering place, or pre-wedding party venue near Gangnam Station, I don't think there's anywhere better 👍 We sat by the window.

The menu lineup and the generous free side dishes

Kkondae Kim Bujang Gogi-jip Gangnam Station Branch has a really wide range of set menus, so you can pick based on the mood of your group. And the witty menu names are a bonus haha — Manager Kim's On-Time-Off Set, Freshman Welcome Party, Section Chief Kim's Passionate Meat Party Set — there's fun just in reading the menu.

And personally, the first thing that caught my eye at this BBQ place was the basic banchan (side dish) setup. Usually at a BBQ restaurant you get something simple like kimchi or lettuce wraps alongside the meat, but here they clearly put a lot of thought into the basics! I was stunned the moment the basket of side dishes arrived — it was seriously so generous.

A sweet-and-tangy seasoned squid, acorn jelly salad, salted pollack roe, seasoned oysters, kimchi that could rival a bossam (boiled pork wrap) restaurant's, onion sauce, pink ham pancake and shiitake mushroom pancake, and napa cabbage — a whole spread laid out on the table.

It wasn't just a lot of variety, the portions were generous too, so it worked well for a group. There was fun in picking at one side dish after another while waiting for the meat, and each one had a different flavor direction that paired well with the meat. Two side dishes in particular really moved me... these are truly precious 🤍

Eating those seasoned oysters and that kimchi (which rivals a bossam restaurant's) together with the meat is basically heaven.

And this sweet-and-tangy seasoned squid... I came for a pre-wedding gathering so I couldn't drink, but the quality is good enough to make me want to come back with my husband for a drink over dinner sometime. I think this kind of banchan quality is exactly why group gatherings here would be so satisfying. When several people visit, you don't even need to add a bunch of extra side menus — the basic spread alone makes the table feel completely full.

Thick, well-flavoured aged pork belly

The aged pork belly we ordered as the main dish had a really nice meaty aroma and moist texture from the thick cuts.

When you're grilling it yourself on the pan, you have to keep watching how done the meat is, but here the staff grill the meat for you, so we could focus on chatting with friends while eating.

The outside cooked to a golden brown with a savory aroma rising up, while the inside stayed moist with juices, so the more you chewed, the more that rich pork flavor came through 👍 I tried it first dipped lightly in salt to taste the meat itself, and it also paired well with pollack roe and the various banchan.

For a gathering like a pre-wedding party where you're catching up with people you haven't seen in a while, not having to keep flipping the meat yourself turned out to be a surprisingly big plus 👍

Wasabi is served alongside it too, and the combination with the meat's juices adds a nice savory kick 👍 And wrapping it with kimchi, oysters, and napa cabbage — all of it was just top-tier.

Kkodeulsal (chewy pork jowl) and its springy texture

The kkodeulsal we ordered alongside the aged pork belly also stuck with me! A completely different kind of appeal.

Just like its name suggests, it has a slightly chewy yet springy texture that's distinctly different fun from pork belly.

Once it's grilled just right on the pan, the outside gets a savory sear while the inside keeps that signature firm texture — a menu item that people who love a good chew will especially enjoy!

If pork belly is soft and juice-centered, kkodeulsal is more about a savory flavor coming through, so alternating between the two never got old.

Dessert kalguksu: 9,900 won for a 3-portion serving

Honestly, for a moment I thought I'd walked into a dedicated kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) restaurant, that's how good this dessert kalguksu was. It comes out in one big bowl, and seeing the actual portion size in person is even more surprising.

It's priced at ₩9,900 but is basically described as a 3-portion serving, so it was great to order when eating with a group. Seriously!

It's not just noodles — it comes with a generous amount of meat like pork backbone too, so its presence was pretty substantial for something labeled a dessert menu. And remember that kimchi I mentioned that puts bossam restaurants to shame, crunchy and full of savory flavor? Eating it together with this noodle soup starts a whole party in your mouth 💗

The broth was refreshing yet had a deep, savory flavor, making it a great finishing dish after the meat. The portion was generous enough to share among several people, and it was genuinely as satisfying as something from a dedicated kalguksu restaurant 👍 My friends really loved this menu too.

Plump pork skin, the surprise dish of the meal

And a menu that was more fun than I expected was the pork skin. First off, this looks nothing like the thin pork skin I'd had before. This place is on a completely different level.

It has noticeably more thickness and a plump style compared to typical pork skin, so it caught my eye from the moment I saw it. Once grilled, the outside cooked up savory while the inside stayed chewy yet more tender than expected. This was my first time having pork skin with this much thickness, and the texture really stood out 👍

There's a deep, savory flavor and a fun chew to it, so it was nice to pair with the other meats every once in a while. Dipping it in the miseutgaru (roasted grain powder) and turmeric powder served alongside adds extra savoriness and aroma for a different way to enjoy it.
