Yangjae buckwheat restaurant with neungi king mandu, Seoul: Seonbawi
In short
Seonbawi Memil Jangteo Yangjae Branch is a buckwheat noodle restaurant a 3-minute walk from Exit 2 of Yangjae Citizens' Forest Station in Seocho, Seoul. The order was buckwheat clam kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) for two plus a king mandu (large dumpling) stuffed with neungi mushroom, with the clean pollack-and-clam broth turned spicy by stirring in dadegi (chili seasoning paste) at the end. Waits are common at Seonbawi Memil Jangteo, so registering on the Catch Table app first helps, and the mild, unfussy food suits a light lunch.

I was looking for a lunch spot around Yangjae and ended up at Seonbawi Memil Jangteo (선바위메밀장터) Yangjae Branch~~~ It's close to Yangjae Station, Yangjae Citizens' Forest, and Yangjae Flower Market, so it's a buckwheat noodle restaurant worth knowing if you're looking for somewhere to eat in the area (≧∇≦)ノ
Especially if you're after a Yangjae Citizens' Forest lunch spot or a Yangjae Citizens' Forest restaurant with something light and clean on the menu, this place fits perfectly!!!
Where is Seonbawi Memil Jangteo Yangjae, and where do you park?

It's about a 3-minute walk from Yangjae Citizens' Forest Exit 2, and near Yangjae aT Center and Yangjae Flower Market, so it's great for a meal after a walk if you have errands nearby!! There's a small parking space in front of the store, but not many spots, so if you're driving it's worth keeping in mind~~~
It's a popular spot with waits, so register a number with Catch Table quickly!! When it's full, I'd recommend Yangjae Neighborhood Park public parking lot 👍
Opening hours and restaurant details
Seonbawi Memil Jangteo Yangjae Branch is open daily 09:00–21:00. It's a great place to visit on a day when you want something clean and mild rather than spicy haha
On weekdays it'd suit Yangjae office workers for lunch, and on weekends it works well as a meal after visiting Yangjae Citizens' Forest or Yangjae Flower Market~~ Group visits are possible too, so ask when you go ♪(^∇^*)
If you're looking for a good Yangjae lunch spot, or a Yangjae Citizens' Forest lunch menu like kalguksu (noodle soup) or makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles), keep this one in mind 💖
What is on the menu?

Seonbawi Memil Jangteo Yangjae Branch's buckwheat clam kalguksu and king mandu are apparently really popular and well known!! They also have 100% pure buckwheat perilla oil makguksu, pollack sashimi makguksu, dongchimi (radish water kimchi) makguksu, buckwheat soba, and side dishes like pollack sashimi suyuk that go well with makguksu haha
Inside the restaurant and seating

Stepping inside, it's clean and comfortable overall~~ The place is spacious, so turnover seemed pretty good too!!

With seating from tables for two to four to group seating, and a menu that's not too heavy, it's a good option when you're looking for a Yangjae lunch spot haha
Buckwheat clam kalguksu for two: how is the broth?

I had the buckwheat clam kalguksu for two along with a king mandu to make it a filling meal haha The clams were clearly generous at first glance, so the visual alone got me excited~~ With plenty of clams in there, the broth had proper refreshing seafood umami right from the start!!!
The broth wasn't the intensely salty type — it felt like the refreshing taste of the clams and the savory flavor of dried pollack came together just right~~
On top of that, the buckwheat noodles' distinct clean, nutty flavor blended in naturally, giving it a bit of a different charm from regular kalguksu ( •̀ .̫ •́ )✧

The noodles weren't heavy when eaten with the broth, they were light, so my chopsticks kept going back for more~~~ Best of all, picking the clams out one by one and piling up the shells was kind of fun too!!!!

The refreshing flavor from the clams had really soaked into the broth, so after the noodles I kept spooning up the broth too 💞

King mandu stuffed with neungi mushroom
It felt like a shame to eat just the kalguksu, so I ordered the king mandu (dumpling) too!! Inside the dumpling skin was packed with meat and neungi mushroom, filling it right up haha Taking a bite, the moist filling along with the subtle, distinct aroma of neungi mushroom hit exactly my taste ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Unlike a regular meat-only mandu, adding the neungi mushroom made the aroma much deeper!! It went well with the kalguksu broth too, so it was nice to have a bite of mandu in between the noodles~~~~
The buckwheat clam kalguksu and king mandu together made a light yet filling combination, a satisfying meal without weighing down your stomach!!!

Best tip: stir dadegi into the broth at the end
If you're looking for a Yangjae Citizens' Forest restaurant with a filling menu everyone can enjoy, Seonbawi Memil Jangteo Yangjae Branch with its buckwheat menu is a great pick 💓 Stirring dadegi (chili paste) in at the end turns the broth spicy and deep — that's a tasty tip

For kalguksu with a refreshing broth generously packed with clams, I'd recommend this for a Yangjae lunch!!
