Busy even at 4pm, and easy for solo diners

The interior of Samo Sundaeguk Nokbeon feels clean and tidy. I could tell it's already a well-known Eunpyeong restaurant, because even though I visited around 4pm, well past the lunch rush, it was still packed. It's great for solo dining too — I saw plenty of people eating alone, others having a quick drink, and lots of people like me there for a hangover cure haha.

Half order of sundae, 6,000 won for 10 pieces

I usually only like chalsundae (glutinous rice sundae), but the sundae at this great hangover spot, Samo Sundaeguk Nokbeon, had such thin skin and such tasty filling that I think I ate all of it myself haha.

Assorted sundaeguk (regular): perilla powder and black rice

The assorted sundaeguk comes with perilla powder sprinkled on by default. I love perilla powder so much,,, so good.

If you order the regular flavor, it's not seasoned separately, so you add the minced seasoning to taste. It does come lightly seasoned as a base!! Actually I was going to order the large size but downgraded to regular after the staff warned it would be too much. Once the bowl arrived, I understood why — the portion is genuinely huge.

The rice is black rice too, so I was very satisfied! It just feels a bit healthier, you know haha.

Spicy intestine sundaeguk, 12,000 won with main-dish portions of meat

The spicy intestine sundaeguk I ordered! This also comes with perilla powder by default.

The spicy version comes pre-seasoned, so you don't need to add the minced seasoning separately. But can you all see this???? Do you see how generous the meat is???

Generous chunks of meat lifted out of the intestine sundaeguk

The amount of meat is no joke — now I get why they said the large size would be too much.

Thick daechang in the intestine sundaeguk

Look at that thick daechang (large intestine). No wonder this place is famous as an Eunpyeong Korean restaurant. Nothing else compares to Samo Sundaeguk.

This is the first time I've had sundaeguk with meat this generous. At other places it really feels like odds-and-ends cuts, but here it feels like the main event!!! There was no funky smell either, it wasn't chewy, and it was so soft and delicious. I think I'll crave this every time I want to cure a hangover.
