Pig's trotters (jokbal) and soju for two in Yeonsinnae: Gwihanjokbal
In short
Gwihanjokbal Yeonsinnae is a jokbal (braised pig's trotters) restaurant a 3-minute walk from Exit 7 of Yeonsinnae Station in Eunpyeong, Seoul. After only ever ordering Gwihanjokbal for delivery, the writer and her husband ate in for the first time, sharing the small jokbal (35,000 won) with one bottle of soju and one bottle of beer, and found the trotters — boiled in-store every day — tender with no gamy smell on a neatly arranged table. If you are deciding where to eat or drink in Yeonsinnae, Gwihanjokbal is a place worth returning to.

The inside of Gwihanjokbal Yeonsinnae is way cleaner than I expected. Each table has its own lighting, giving it a slightly moody bar-like feel, and the restroom is separated by gender inside.

Small jokbal set (35,000 won) with soju and beer for two
What we ordered at Gwihanjokbal Yeonsinnae that day was the Gwihan Jokbal (small) for ₩35,000, plus a bottle of soju and a bottle of beer. Once you order, a tidy full table arrives, and just how neatly everything was arranged from the moment it came out made me weirdly happy hahahaha.

The lettuce wraps, garlic, and kimchi that are essential with jokbal.

Here comes the Gwihan Jokbal (small)~~~! Being served like this as a full table setting made me feel weirdly pampered and happy!

Apparently Gwihanjokbal boils the jokbal fresh in-store every day and makes their own kimchi too. Maybe that's why there's no gamy smell at all, and the trotters have this glossy shine 🤤

I'd had Gwihanjokbal delivered before and it was tasty, but of course eating it in the store, straight out of the kitchen, made it even more delicious.

I picked up a piece of the jokbal 🐷 at this Yeonsinnae jokbal restaurant Gwihanjokbal Yeonsinnae — thick, chewy, and it just melts ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ ugh, insane 🤤🤤🤤

A bottle of soju and a bottle of beer with my husband! We'd originally decided not to drink that night, but how could we resist with a side dish this good ㅠㅠ We probably went out afterward and drank another 10 beers ㅎ_ㅎ
