I wanted a solid evening meal, and with such a wide variety of menu items on offer, this place makes for a great Gangnam Station lunch spot for office workers or a solo-dining restaurant. Even from the outside, it had that 'this must be a good Gangnam Station Korean restaurant' feel, haha.

Drinks work the same way — pay, then take them out of the fridge yourself, haha. Hair ties, toothpicks, candy, mouthwash and wet wipes are also set up next to the drink fridge~

Ordering at the kiosk and choosing a jjageuli

Orders are placed at the kiosk near the entrance of 1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli Gangnam Main Branch. Make sure to keep the order number that shows up on the kiosk after ordering~

True to the name, there were really so many types of deopbap (rice bowl) and jjageuli menus! So many things looked delicious that it was hard to choose, but having photos on screen helped a lot with picking~

Once you pick a menu, you can immediately choose side dishes, jjageuli rice, spice level, or extra noodles too, haha. I picked the tteok-mandu meat-loaded jjageuli, kept the default egg-topped rice, went with regular spice level since I'm a spice wimp haha, and since jjageuli like this really needs noodles, I added half a ramyeon serving too! And on top of that, steamed egg as well haha. Solo meal, but let's enjoy it in a big way, hoho.

Solo dining, done right~ I came wanting a really filling dinner, and this Gangnam Station restaurant, great for whenever you want Korean food, delivered a genuinely hearty meal — 1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli Gangnam Main Branch! Let's dig into this tteok-mandu meat jjageuli~

Even the default rice comes as egg-topped rice, so it tastes even better! Plus, just as the jjageuli guide said, roasted seaweed flakes and sesame oil make it perfect for mixing in with the jjageuli!

I only added half a ramyeon serving, but the jjageuli still looked incredibly generous~

This really,, is a combination that can't fail. Dumplings, rice cakes, and ramyeon noodles too... haha.

You can eat the rice and jjageuli separately depending on preference, but I chose to mix in the seaweed flakes and jjageuli together. I drizzled on sesame oil too for extra nuttiness~

Tasting the broth, the dumplings and the steamed egg

1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli Gangnam Main Branch, my solo-dining spot near Gangnam Station! I added a bunch of extras to really enjoy myself alone, and ended up stuffed to the brim — the broth was rich and delicious, perfect with rice, and that distinct thick, deep flavor of jjageuli broth was totally my type.

Since it's a tteok-mandu jjageuli, there were dumplings and rice cakes too, and as a dumpling lover I was very satisfied.. The dumplings were plump, and taking a bite showed the filling was packed full, haha.

The steamed egg I ordered as a side! It was so soft and easy to eat, and pairing it with the jjageuli broth gave a really great balance of flavors, haha.

To finish, a refreshing (?) zero-sugar cola. Keeping a bit of a conscience by going zero, lol. After the jjageuli, one sip of zero cola felt like it opened everything right up, lol. Such a perfect solo meal. Good stuff~
