Hapjeong café with patio seats and two washed drips: Central Site
In short
Central Site Hapjeong is a pet-friendly roastery café on Yanghwa-ro 7-gil in Mapo, Seoul. On a clear day the writer took a patio seat and ordered two hand drips — Guatemala Entre Volcanes Washed and Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Chelbesa Washed — with a classic tiramisu, while dogs passed by the terrace. The Guatemala tasted steady and comfortable and the Ethiopia bright and clean, so switching between the two cups was half the fun.

Central Site Hapjeong is the kind of place that pops into my head whenever the weather is nice.

Why the patio at Central Site Hapjeong is worth a clear day
Central Site Hapjeong has great coffee, but honestly it's the outdoor seating vibe that keeps pulling me back. On cool, sunny days, sitting outside instead of inside makes the whole experience so much better. Even though it's right in the middle of Hapjeong, sitting out there gives you this relaxed feeling — so whenever the weather's nice, this place naturally comes to mind.

Central Site Hapjeong isn't really a café you visit just for pretty interiors — it feels more like a roastery café made for people who genuinely love beans and coffee itself. Each bean comes with its own info card, so you can read about the origin region and characteristics while you drink, which is a nice touch.

Pets welcome: the dogs on the Central Site Hapjeong terrace
And Central Site Hapjeong being pet-friendly is another big plus — you often get to see dogs hanging around!

Sipping coffee while watching cute pups — small happiness 🐶🐕🐾. They sat so calmly on the terrace that I couldn't stop looking, haha. Fragrant coffee plus cute dogs equals lucky 🍀

What is the indoor seating and mood like?
Step inside and the atmosphere shifts entirely. The most eye-catching part is the roasting space visible through the glass window — you can literally see beans being roasted, which gives it that unmistakable roastery-café feel.

Wood-toned tables and stools together with a concrete floor create an overall calm, slightly vintage mood. Seating isn't as plentiful as a big chain café — it's mostly small tables, so it's a good spot for 1-2 people to enjoy a quiet coffee.

What I ordered: two hand drips and classic tiramisu
On this visit I ordered two hand-drip coffees and a classic tiramisu.

Guatemala Entre Volcanes Washed: how it tastes
The first coffee was the Guatemala Entre Volcanes Washed. Grown in the Antigua region of Guatemala using Bourbon and Caturra varieties, this washed coffee is blended from several small-scale producers. Overall it's less about standout flavor and more about a stable, comfortable balance. The acidity wasn't too strong, so it was easy to drink without any pressure — the kind of style that even people who don't usually drink hand drip could enjoy fairly comfortably.

Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Chelbesa Washed: how it tastes
The second was the Ethiopia Nordic Approach Yirgacheffe Chelbesa Washed. This is a washed coffee from the Chelbesa area of Ethiopia's Gedeo region, made from Wolisho and Dega varieties grown at 1,800-2,200m altitude. Compared to the Guatemala, this one was brighter from the aroma onward. It had white floral notes and a fresh, citrus-like quality, with an overall clean, transparent taste. It had that signature bright Ethiopian aroma without feeling overly fermented, so it was clean and pleasant to drink.

Alternating between the two made the differences even clearer. Guatemala felt a bit more stable and comfortable, while Ethiopia felt fresh and bright. If you like hand drip, it's fun to pick contrasting styles like this and compare them side by side.

How the classic tiramisu pairs with the coffee
We also ordered the classic tiramisu.

On top, a generous dusting of cocoa powder and chocolate; inside, layers of soft cream and coffee-soaked sponge. The cream is quite soft and rich but not overly sweet, making it a good dessert to pair with hand-drip coffee.

Pairing the bright Ethiopian drip with the tiramisu felt especially good — it seemed to cut through the heaviness of the cream a bit. With the Guatemala instead, the overall taste became softer and more comfortable.

Why I keep going back to Central Site Hapjeong
I've already visited a bunch of times, but this feels like a place I'll keep thinking of whenever the weather's nice.

Sitting outside with a hand-drip coffee, and if I'm lucky, meeting some cute dogs too — I'll be back here whenever I want a relaxed coffee day in Hapjeong.
