A wide range of baked treats near Gongdeok Station
On a gloomy day, isn't a delicious dessert the easiest reward you can give yourself? On this quest for something tasty, I stopped by Fluffy Bake Shop near Gongdeok Station. It's a place where you can find all kinds of desserts, including canelés, madeleines, financiers, and egg tarts.

Fluffy Bake Shop is at Unit 106 on the first floor of Building 2 Shopping Arcade, 8 Baekbeom-ro 31-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, 148 m from Exit 2 of Gongdeok Station. Its hours are 08:00–18:30 Monday through Friday and 11:00–18:30 on Saturday and Sunday. You can also park free for one hour in the underground lot.
Before I even stepped inside, the talisman stuck to the door greeted me first. It offered a little glimpse of the owner's sensibility and put me in a good mood right away. Looking at it somehow made me feel like the desserts might be less fattening, haha.

The shop isn't large, but its warm, charming atmosphere makes it a nice place to linger for a bit. Cute miniature decorations dotted around the space also caught my eye. Each little piece adds to the sweetness of the space and really brings out the shop's own cozy, whimsical feel.

A display with plenty sold out, even on a weekday afternoon
Fluffy Bake Shop has a varied lineup of baked goods: 16 kinds of madeleines, 9 kinds of financiers, and 3 kinds of canelés. Popular items can sell out quickly, so I recommend coming early if there's something you have your heart set on~ I visited on a weekday afternoon too, and many of the baked treats on display were already gone.

A lot of items had sold out, but there was still enough variety to choose from. I slowly looked over every remaining option and happily agonized over what to pick.

The gamtae financier, which was featured on Amazing Saturday. I was curious about what the combination of gamtae (a Korean seaweed) and financier would taste like, so I chose one.

Sadly, the popular salt bread had already sold out, so I couldn't buy any. But an appetizing-looking egg tart immediately caught my eye, and I simply couldn't pass it by—I put one straight into my tray. There are drink options as well as desserts, making this a lovely place to take a little break with something sweet and a beverage.

Gift packaging is available for baked treats too
There are plenty of packaging options as well. From four-piece pulp lunchboxes to six-piece and 15-piece shopping-bag boxes, you can choose one for the occasion. It seemed perfect for selecting several baked treats, packing them up prettily, and giving them as a gift.

After all that happy deliberation, I picked one thing after another until my tray was full of tempting desserts 😋 Just looking at them made me happy~

Because these desserts were just for me, I finished my order with a paper bag! Carrying out the prettily packed treats made me feel even better. Once I got home and opened the bag, I found that every item had been individually wrapped, and the rich buttery aroma reached my nose first. Good smell~

How did the gamtae financier and egg tart taste?
The first thing I tried was the gamtae financier. The aroma and flavor of gamtae came through first, while a pleasantly crisp exterior paired with a moist, soft middle. It disappeared in no time.

The egg tart made me think, “I should have bought several of these…” after trying it. Its pastry was intensely crisp, while the inside was full of soft, moist cream, so every bite had such a lovely contrast of textures. I enjoyed it so much that it vanished in an instant, leaving me weirdly sad. If I visit again, this is definitely one I want to bring home in multiples.

Earl Grey canelé with an Americano
The Earl Grey canelé had a delicate Earl Grey fragrance that spread through my mouth with every bite. Its exterior was crisp, while the dense interior was moist, so I got to enjoy that distinctive canelé texture properly. The subtle Earl Grey aroma would pair even better with a light Americano.

There are still untried items waiting for me, which makes this dessert spot even more exciting. Thanks to the sweet treats, my gloomy day felt a little lighter, and it felt as though I had given myself one small but certain happiness for working hard today. A day that brought me one step closer to happiness, with delicious desserts. 🤎
