Late-night Itaewon izakaya with a today's sashimi platter: Midoriya
In short
Midoriya is an izakaya near Itaewon Station in Yongsan, Seoul, serving aged and seasonal sashimi with drinks. The today's sashimi platter costs 65,000 won and brings a little of several kinds of fish, and joining the Naver review event added a warm grilled fish head. Midoriya is open from 17:30 to 01:30, so it works well for a second round or a late dinner date.

I visited Midoriya wanting a proper sashimi meal with drinks in Itaewon. It's an Itaewon bar known for aged sashimi (sukseonghoe) and seasonal raw fish, and since it's open late, it was also a fine spot for a second round or a date.

This time I ordered the today's sashimi platter for ₩65,000, and thanks to joining the Naver review event, I also got to try the grilled fish head :)

Since it's open from evening well into the night in Itaewon, it's a good time slot for an after-work drink or a second-round hangout. And here's a tip worth grabbing before you go!

If you follow Midoriya on Naver, you can get a 10% discount coupon. Since sashimi orders can run up in price, that 10% adds up, so I'd recommend checking it before your visit.
What comes on the 65,000-won today's sashimi platter?
The main dish I ordered that day at Midoriya was the today's sashimi platter for ₩65,000. Rather than just one type of fish, it's a spread that lets you taste whatever variety of sashimi is available that day, all at once.

It's a great menu for people who want to try a bit of everything. Rather than the usual raw fish restaurant vibe, it has more of an izakaya atmosphere for slowly enjoying sashimi with drinks, which made it a nice spot for a date or drinks with friends in Itaewon.

I tried the sashimi plain sometimes and with accompaniments other times, taking my time going through each variety. Since several types come out together, it was fun comparing them one by one.

If you like sashimi made with seasonal fish or you're looking for a good aged sashimi spot in Itaewon, this menu is worth a look.
The grilled fish head from Midoriya's Naver review event
The meal at Midoriya didn't end with sashimi — that day I also got to try the grilled fish head through the Naver review event. It came out grilled to a nice golden brown, offering a different kind of appeal from the sashimi. Pairing warm, savory grilled fish in between bites of raw fish made for a great combination.

Especially for those having drinks, a grilled dish like this ends up being a surprisingly good anju (drinking snack). If there's a Naver review event running when you visit, it's worth checking what perks you can get.
If you want sashimi late at night in Itaewon, it's great that Midoriya is open from 17:30 to 1:30 AM, so you can drop by even late in the evening.

When you want something different from meat or Western food in Itaewon, or just feel like sashimi with a drink, this is a good place to visit! My today's sashimi platter was ₩65,000, and I got the grilled fish head on top of that through the Naver review event.

Above all, don't forget to grab the 10% discount coupon by following Midoriya on Naver before you go. On a ₩65,000 order, 10% off is a decent discount, so it's a perk worth not missing :) If you're looking for a bar in Itaewon to enjoy aged sashimi and seasonal raw fish, give Midoriya a try.
Is Midoriya worth it? Final score
Another thing I liked was that ordering just one sashimi platter at Midoriya lets you taste small portions of several different kinds of fish, making it much more varied than sticking to one type. Itaewon tends to be full of Western restaurants and pubs when you're looking for a place with a good atmosphere for drinks, so a spot centered on aged sashimi and seasonal raw fish felt like a refreshingly different option.

After finishing the today's sashimi platter and moving on to the warm grilled fish head, the combination of cold raw fish and hot grilled fish worked really well together. It's a good spot to visit for dinner, or to swing by afterward for light sashimi and drinks.

Best of all, it's a plus that it's open until 1:30 AM right in the middle of Itaewon. That gives you plenty of flexibility on days when plans end late or you're looking for a second-round spot. If you're planning to visit, make sure to check the Naver follow 10% discount coupon and any review events ahead of time to grab the perks. If you like modeun sashimi (assorted raw fish platter) or aged sashimi in Itaewon, this is a place worth checking out.
