I was looking for a nice-vibe café in Yeonnam-dong and ended up at Petrico Yeonnam!

There are so many cafés in Yeonnam-dong that it's honestly hard to pick where to go, but that day I wasn't in the mood for a regular dessert — I wanted a fluffy soufflé pancake, so I headed to Petrico.

It's not just soufflé — they also serve a variety of drinks and specialty coffee, so it seemed like a great spot for a Yeonnam-dong date or a café tour with friends.

Where is Petrico Yeonnam, and what are its hours?

Petrico Yeonnam is at 75 Jandari-ro, 1st floor, Mapo-gu, Seoul, and it's open 08:00–22:00. What I loved most was that it opens at 8am.

A lot of Yeonnam-dong cafés open pretty late, so it was nice that this one is up and running from the morning — great if you have an early appointment. And since it's open until 10pm, it's also good to swing by for dessert after dinner.

Fruit soufflé at Petrico Yeonnam, 18,000 won

What I ordered that day was the fruit soufflé for 18,000 won and the cold-brew Assam milk tea for 7,500 won.

The soufflé was the menu item I'd been most looking forward to before even visiting Petrico. When it arrived, the thick, pillowy look immediately caught my eye. Soufflé really does have a different charm from regular pancakes. It has some thickness to it, but instead of feeling heavy or firm, it's soft and cloud-like, which makes it look so tempting. And soufflé like this really has to be eaten fresh out of the kitchen! I snapped a few quick photos and dug right in. The first bite delivered that signature soufflé texture — fluffy and soft.

It practically melts apart softly in your mouth, so it's the perfect thing to order when you're craving something sweet. It's pretty too, so it was fun to photograph. If you're hunting for a pretty dessert café in Yeonnam-dong or a Hongdae dessert spot, this is worth a visit. It's also a good size for two people to share alongside a drink, taking it slow.

Cold-brew Assam milk tea, 7,500 won: the best match for the soufflé

For my drink I went with the cold-brew Assam milk tea for 7,500 won. Since the soufflé itself is a sweet dessert, I was debating what to drink with it, and that day I was craving milk tea instead of coffee. The cold-brew Assam milk tea is refreshing while still carrying that distinct tea aroma, which paired nicely with the soufflé.

Taking a bite of the fluffy soufflé and then sipping the chilled milk tea made for a great combo. If you love sweet desserts but aren't much of a coffee drinker, ordering milk tea alongside is a good call.

Of course, Petrico is also a café where you can enjoy specialty coffee, so coffee lovers might want to pair the soufflé with coffee instead, depending on taste. Next time I visit, I'd like to try the soufflé with coffee.

Is Petrico Yeonnam good for a Yeonnam-dong date course?

Yeonnam-dong has so many cafés that deciding where to actually go can be a real dilemma.

Petrico has a clear signature dessert in the soufflé, so it's an easy place to think of whenever you're craving something sweet. It worked well for a café tour with friends, and just as well for slowly enjoying dessert and drinks on a date.

I'd especially recommend it to anyone who loves taking photos, since the soufflé looks so pretty. A lot of people these days are hunting for pretty desserts worth posting, and the cloud-soft, thick soufflé photographs really well.

Being open from 8am to 10pm is another perk — you have a wide window to choose from, morning through evening.

Is Petrico Yeonnam worth a visit? Final verdict

The fruit soufflé and cold-brew Assam milk tea I had at Petrico Yeonnam this time made for a sweet, unhurried dessert combo. If you're a fan of fluffy soufflé pancakes, this is definitely one to keep on your list!
