The first place that comes to mind when meeting friends in Hapjeong! Mecenatpolis, where all the Hapjeong Station restaurants are clustered! This time I went for Thai food at Saeng Augustine Hapjeong Branch. The restaurant is spacious and has parking, so it's satisfying whenever you visit — let me introduce this Hapjeong Station Thai food spot.

Saeng Augustine Hapjeong Branch lets you use the Mecenatpolis parking lot. They said you can get 3.5 hours free! The lot is big and they give you plenty of time, so I could visit without worrying about parking. A Hapjeong Station restaurant with parking that long is precious, right? haha
If the restaurant closes earlier than that, support might only apply until closing time — but for us, they registered 3 hours of parking!

Saeng Augustine Hapjeong Branch is located on B1 of Mecenatpolis. It's right at the entrance of the food street, so it was close from the station and not hard to find at all — I liked that.
Inside Saeng Augustine Hapjeong Branch: is it good for groups and babies?
Walking inside, it was bigger than I expected! Most of all, the gap between tables was wide, so I could eat comfortably. It looked great for a group visit and also for visiting with a baby haha.
They also have rooms for 4, 6, and 12 people, so it's a perfect Hapjeong Station spot for wedding invitation gatherings or group meetups.

Beyond à la carte, there were sets, best menus, new menus, noodles, rice, seafood — such a wide range to choose from! Whenever I come to Saeng Augustine, I usually order crab curry, prawn pad thai, and tom yum goong, so this time I picked different dishes!

This time we ordered three dishes: tom yum rice noodle soup, Thai chili noodles, and basil pork stir-fry! We made sure they didn't overlap — soup noodles, stir-fried noodles, and rice, haha.
Tom yum rice noodle soup, 16,000 won: tangy enough for spice-shy eaters
First, the tom yum rice noodle soup! You taste the distinct tom yum sourness first, followed by a gentle sweetness that backs it up, so it wasn't as intense as I expected and was easy to eat! Even people who can't handle spices well could probably manage this one.
Even eaten together with the noodles, the broth stayed balanced instead of feeling separate, so it was delicious! It wasn't heavy to just spoon up the broth on its own either, so it disappeared before I knew it... haha. The meat inside also had great texture and flavor, very satisfying! If you want a stronger, more spicy-sour tom yum flavor, I'd recommend ordering tom yum goong instead!
Thai chili noodles, 19,000 won: smoky wok char and thick noodles
Next, the Thai chili noodles! The smoky wok-char hits you the moment the plate arrives! The thick noodles paired well with the spicy soy sauce.
The noodles weren't overcooked, so they kept some bite, and the vegetables stayed crunchy too haha. After eating, the spicy salty sauce and subtle smoky char lingered, making this the most memorable of the three dishes!
Basil pork stir-fry, 16,000 won: rice with a fried egg, easy to like
Basil pork stir-fry! Savory-salty stir-fried pork with fragrant basil added, served with fried egg rice! It felt familiar yet the aroma was still vivid haha.
After the umami of the meat, the basil aroma rises up, and the fried egg and rice soften the saltiness — great to eat together! Compared to the more spice-forward dishes, this combination is easier to approach, so I think it'll have the fewest dislikes among the three!

Being inside Mecenatpolis makes it easy to access, and getting 3.5 hours of parking registered is a huge plus for visiting by car!
