In short

Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch is a Chinese restaurant near Yeoksam Station in Gangnam, Seoul. On a rainy fall day, the writer met a friend after work for rice-noodle jjamppong, regular jjamppong, and Sichuan-style sweet and sour pork, with tablet ordering, an unlimited rice self-bar, and coffee, yuja tea, and plum tea for dessert. A solid pick for office lunches or a company dinner when spicy soup sounds good.

It was drizzling on and off that fall day, so I met up with a friend near Yeoksam Station right when they got off work.

My friend had been working overtime and I'd just finished being out on business, and since it was rainy and chilly, I really wanted some spicy hot soup. So we headed to Jjamppong Jijon Gangnam, Yeoksam branch.

Where is Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch

It's close to Yeoksam Station. There's a big sign on the second-floor building so it's easy to find. This Yeoksam Station restaurant, Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch, is located on the 2nd floor of B-dong, Semyeong Plaza, 21 Teheran-ro 10-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

What's the exterior and interior vibe like

Stylishly decorated seating area of the Chinese restaurant

Since the restaurant is on the second floor, you can enjoy the view outside while eating, which was nice. The space was more spacious and pleasant than I expected, so it seemed like a great spot for group dinners too.

From what I know, Jjamppong Jijon is a franchise, so the interior style varies a bit by location. This branch was really big and nicely decorated, giving off a much more sophisticated vibe than a typical Chinese restaurant. Like, wait, is this really a Chinese restaurant? That kind of feeling, haha.

Ordering tablet placed on the table

Every table had a tablet, so I could browse the menu comfortably and order right away, which was also really nice. No flipping through a paper menu, no waiting for staff — I could just order from my seat, so convenient.

I also snapped a photo of the items set up at the table and the origin-of-ingredients sign!

Self-bar with scissors, aprons and more

The self-bar at Jjamppong Jijon Yeoksam Branch was really well stocked too — scissors, aprons, baby spoons, a ladle, tongs, all the tools you'd need for the meal were there, and best of all, the unlimited rice was a huge plus for me.

How were the rice-noodle jjamppong, jjamppong, and Sichuan sweet and sour pork

We ordered one each of Jjamppong Jijon's signature rice-noodle jjamppong (spicy seafood soup with rice noodles) and regular jjamppong. And we also got the Sichuan-style sweet and sour pork, which pairs perfectly with spicy jjamppong.

We went with the regular flavor for the jjamppong, and the broth was seriously rich and deep.

The Sichuan sweet and sour pork was also really good. Crispy outside, moist inside, with a sweet and slightly spicy sauce that just clung to every bite — I kept reaching for more. Lol.

I especially loved the combo with the rice-noodle jjamppong! The noodles were easy on the stomach and soft, so they just slid right down. Yep, I'm a rice-noodle lover through and through, haha.

Dessert corner after the meal

After finishing the meal, there was a dessert corner set up to cleanly wash away that slightly greasy Chinese-food aftertaste. Coffee, yuja tea (citron tea), and plum tea were all available, so you could pick based on your taste. The yuja tea was just the right amount of tangy and refreshing, lol. Totally my style.

There was even a phone charger at the register, so I got to charge up too — super convenient.

There's also a restroom inside the restaurant, so no need to step out of the building at all.

Nice touch with the mirror, toothpicks, and even candy — such thoughtful service~~

To sum up

This Yeoksam Station Chinese restaurant, Jjamppong Jijon Gangnam Yeoksam branch, was overall a really satisfying place. Enjoying delicious jjamppong and sweet and sour pork in a pleasant atmosphere, plus all the convenient amenities, makes it a great choice for office workers looking for a Yeoksam Station restaurant or anyone wanting a solo meal near Yeoksam Station.

Especially for a Yeoksam Station lunch visit or if you're looking for a group dinner spot, Jjamppong Jijon Gangnam Yeoksam branch will be a Yeoksam Station company dinner recommendation you won't regret. It's a place I'd want to come back to whenever I'm craving that spicy, warm broth :)
